Ari and I have been home for a while. We did have that out day that I promised her before I went to LA and we had a blast. It was a chillaxed afternoon with my daughter and I. We laid on my bed together in some sweats and a random top. The both of us watched a whole marathon of Fresh Prince of Bel Air and I gotta say it was nice. We both laughed hysterically at the same parts and we just enjoyed our girl time. It was a cloudy day outside so I wasn't in the mood to go out. The shades were low setting that gloomy vibe inside the room. Junk food was surrounded all over.
"Mama imma go to da bathroom. " Arielle informed me as the last show of the marathon went to commercial.
"You need help?" She shook her head "Na I got dis!" I nodded letting her go
She walked to the bathroom and I smiled. Arielle has been learning so much in life with just a young age on her. At times I feel like its my fault and I'm a bad mother for that, but then again she's learning from it. I'm still here to love her and tell her everything's gona be alright. Arielle hasn't once bought August up, and I haven't had the chance to even tell August about what she told me. I knew he was gonna be hurt by the situation so I wasn't sure how I could approach him about it. I knew I was gonna approach him sooner or later, but I don't want La' Nisha to be involved since its really a family issue .
I wrote down in my notebook a new song I created. I struggled hard thinking about what to right for the next line until the door rang. I frowned since I wasn't expecting any visitors.
"I got it!" I heard Arielle yell
"Ari no!" I ran over to her still holding a few m&m's in my hands.
"I was jus' gonna open the door." I bent down to her level making eye contact with her.
"And what did I tell you? You not suppose ta' be answerin' the phone or the door unless I tell you too!"
She was silent looking down.
"Did I tell you to answer the door?" She shook her head no..
"Then don't answer it." I went back to my level as the door bell rang again.
I sighed looking through the hole and seeing August. I opened up the door to see him standing there with his hands stuffed in his pockets. I had know idea why he was here and did I wanna know ? No. We stood there in silence. He still hadn't said what he wanted and I was annoyed. I put all my weight in one foot. Still waiting.
"What do you want?" I asked in a mean tone.
"I jus' stopped by ta' say hi,"
"Hi" I was about to close the door, but his foot stopped me.
"Damn you already tryna make ya boy leave?" I shook my head leaving the door open
"Ion know whatchu' need in hea' "
"I can't see my daughter?" He asked
I looked back seeing she wasn't insight.
"She's sleeping."
"Why you gotta Bullshit. I wanna see my daughter and you lyin'? Damn Yanna that's cold."
He pushed himself in and I rolled my eyes.
"Mama!" Arielle yelled
I ran over to her and I could here August follow me. She was in the bathroom standing in front of the mirror on the stool.
"I loss my toof!"
"Really lemme see?" She showed it to me and I looked at it.
"How did that happen?" I asked
" I was chewing on the candy, and when I, when I, uh bite it, it popped right off!"
"Dang Ari, na' you deserve some ice cream." August said.
She turned looking at the door seeing him. Her huge ass smile turned into a frown.
"I don't want ice cream." She stated plainly
"What?!" August squealed "You luh ice cream"
"Yeah but im not hungry." She stated bluntly towards him.
I didn't bother to look at August cause I knew he was hurt by that.
"Mama imma put this under my pillow and see if I really get money."
I smiled "okay "
She held her mouth like blood was gonna fall and ran toward her room.
August stood frozen in place.
"August can I speak with you?" He nodded I walked into the living room where he stood there waiting for me to speak.
I took a deep breath in and let it out
"Okay, August. I know Ari acting this way toward you ain't what ya use to."
He nodded.
"Now stop acting like a mitch, moping around and tell her you don't like her treating you like that!" I commanded
He frowned obviously not expecting that.
"See I know I may sound crazy or something but you seriously needa man up! If you claim you a real nigga then go over and tell her u ain't gon respec--".
" its ight Keyanna she'll get over it later."
"And what's later? If you came over hea' thinkin' she gon' own up to you, you betta think again." I stated
I sighed
"August this is your child! She's a miniature you. If I did some salty shit like that to you, you know damn well you would be upset about it for days."
He was still quiet.
" Arielle is waiting for you to apologize while your probably waiting for her to apologize."
"See yall both hard headed cause none of yall gon do anything. You needa go over there, tell her that your sorry, but then also tell her you ain't gon tolerate all them disrespectful looks, and attitudes. Okay?"
He didn't say anything.
"Okay I guess you don't wanna have a relationship with your daughter. It's fine with me." I said stepping away from him.
He grabbed my arm.
"Can you come with me?"
I laughed nodding "But I ain't sayin' anything."
He nodded. I walked and noticed he wasn't even moving.
"August let's go"
He still didn't move.
I sighed grabbing his arm.
"Can't believe your scared of your own daughter."
"It ain't even that. I jus' ain't neva yelled at ha' like that. I'm nervous"
"It's okay you jus' needa let her know what's up"
"I know but ion wanna make ha' cry"
