(This one is relatively short but should still be entertaining)
The moon hung still, pale and silent. The wind held its breath. Somewhere below, the world moved on, but up here... time had stopped.
Zane stood quietly. His presence was calm, but his eyes—those deep, familiar eyes—were filled with something heavier than power.
Zeke stared at him, breathless. The boy's hands trembled, his voice cracking like brittle glass.
"Z-Zane...?"
Zane gave a faint, almost uncertain smile. "In the flesh... sort of..."
His words hit like a drumbeat in Zeke's heart.
Zaria moved first—one trembling step forward, then another. Zeke followed. They reached out—hesitantly—as though touching a ghost.
Their fingertips brushed Zane's arms.
Zeke's eyes glowed white.
Zaria's glowed pink.
Their powers—so intertwined with energy, spirit, essence—confirmed it.
The signature was perfect. Impossible. Unmistakable.
Zeke staggered back, tears already falling. "I-It is... you..."
Zaria clutched her mouth, her voice breaking like a dam. "Z-Zane..."
And then—
They both launched into him.
They hit him like twin meteors of emotion, collapsing into his chest, arms wrapped around him so tightly it hurt.
They sobbed—not small tears, but the kind that clawed their way out from years of loss. Of grief. Of guilt.
They shook as they clung to him.
Zeke cried like the little boy he never let himself be.
Zaria wept like the sister who buried her heart to stay strong.
"Y-You died," Zaria choked out. "You—died..."
Zane's arms wrapped around them both. Strong. Protective. Unwavering.
"I tried not to..." he whispered. "God, I tried...but if it makes you feel any better...It hurt like a bitch..."
Their cries then mixed with laughter as they grew louder. Messier. And Zane held on tighter, letting them feel everything.
And then—
Marinette.
She hadn't moved. Not once. Not since she laid eyes on him.
Her lips parted. No sound came out.
Her heart pounded in her ears. Her hands trembled like leaves in a storm.
Because she remembered.
She remembered it all.

— Flashback —
Zane demorphed, body slumped inside the crumbling Shell-ter. Blood oozed from the wound in his gut.
Marinette's voice shrieked through the comms, broken and desperate.
"ZANE! GET OUT OF THERE!!"
He coughed. Winced. Punched the force field with everything he had left.
"Can't..." he muttered, weakly.
"What do you mean you can't?!"
"I Can't...Marinette..." Zane weakly says.
Marinette desperately screams, "YOU HAVE TO TRY!!!!"
