Chapter thirty six

Amy, Seth, and Tina walked into 30rock for the first Monday after the break. It was so exciting. They went into studio 8h and there was Jimmy and Lorne deep in conversation. Amy and Tina looked at each other with wide eyes. There was no other way to get to where they needed to be but to go over there.
"I got it." Seth murmured. He walked over and pulled out his phone and sat in the chairs to show them whatever. Amy and Tina snuck past.
Amy hadn't spoke to Tina about anything that happened at the party. The two managed to ignore the elephant in the room. It was hard to not know what's going on with her best friend. But honestly, she didn't seem bad at all.
Amy's phone rang. It was her brother
"Hey GP! I missed you this Christmas what's up." She said, happy to hear from him. Tina was looking at her nervously.
"Amy..." He voice sounded grim and rough.
"What's wrong?" Her voice quoted and she walked into her dressing room.
"Sissy mom and dad are getting divorced."
"WHAT!?" She cried. "They seemed fine at Christmas-"
"They seemed that way. They're almost done, todays the last court day." He sighed.
"Greg! We have to do something!"
"I knew you'd say this. Amy you can't fix everything all the time, some things you just have to let be."
"But..." She didn't know what to say to that. "These are our parents."
"I know, I'm so sorry." He said.
"Can you come to a show soon? I'll get you in." She asked. "I need you."
"Oh Amy, I miss you, of course. I'll let you know." He said. "I miss you, call me if you need anything, and don't contact mom or dad for a while."
"Okay, I love you." She hung up and sat down, trying to make sense of all this. What the hell was going on? It was so weird.

Tina knew Greg would call Amy sometime, he couldn't keep it from her forever. She hoped Amy would wait a while to tell her so she could figure out what to say. She felt a wedge between them lately which killed her because that's one of the only reasons she did what she did with Jimmy. So she wouldn't lose Amy. After today, she would treat her out to eat.
"Tina!" Lorne walked toward her, Jimmy and Seth walking behind him. "We were thinking about a good ol fashion joke off this week! Seth's idea!"
She glared briefly at Seth and then returned to Lorne.
"That'd be great!" She smiled.
"Really?" Lorne asked. She nodded, briefly looking at Jimmy who was already looking at her.
"Great." He said. "Alright Monday meeting time."

After the meeting, Tina went to the bathroom, coming out; Jimmy was at the water fountain. They froze and looked at each other.
"Listen." Tina broke the silence. "About what happened at the party, just because we're not romantically involved doesn't mean we can't be friends." She regretted it the moment she said it. Who was she to put them both through the pain of being together and having to pretend they're not madly in love with each other?
"As much as I would love that..." Jimmy stared at the ground, then at her. "I don't think that's a good idea."
"Yeah!" She nodded trying to sound okay with this. "I get it! It's all good! See you at joke off practice!" She walked away awkwardly. Amy was waiting for her outside 30rock.
"Ready to get some lunch." Tina smiled, linking her arm through Amy's.
"Yeah..." She nodded. "Can we talk?"
She swallowed.
"Of course."
"My mom and dad got divorced."
"What!?" Tina tried her best to act surprised. "Ames that's terrible."
"I know!" She cried. "I can't belive it...there must've been something I could've done."
"No! Don't say that! This is not your fault!" Tina was positive about that one.
"Yeah...I guess, it's just crazy." She sighed.
"Yeah it is, I don't blame you for feeling this way. Is there anything I can do?"
They looked at each other and Amy grinned.
"Carry this baby for me and give me a beer." She joked. The two laughed, and just like that;the wedge between them grew smaller. "Anyway, have you thought about getting back on the market?"
"Me?" Tina laughed. "No, I might go for a one nighter, but nothing permanent."
"Now T, that's not healthy. Find someone you love."
I already did, she thought, but then I realized my recovery would make him leave me. They walked into a cafe and sat down.
"Oh to hell with me, you're about to get married Ames!" She smiled. Amy broke out into a happy grin.
"I know!" All of the sudden she got super serious and grabbed Tina's hand. "You promise me right now, just the two of us; will have the wildest bachelorette party after I have my baby."
Tina laughed and nodded.
"I promise, you'll never forget it." She smiled.
"Good."
"But maybe because you'll be so drunk." Tina joked.
"Yeah..." Amy trailed off, looking at her. She didn't know whether to say something so she decided to start off slow. "We're doing joke off this week!"
Tina nodded, calling Amy's blood.
"It'll be weird with Jimmy and I working together." She said honestly. Amy nodded, not knowing what to say. Obviously, from what happened at the party; Tina was in pain. But since she wasn't addressing it, she would leave it alone.
