Chapter 25~ Green?!

JASMINE'S POV
   
     I stared at Connor waiting for his explanation concerning what's happening between him and Chris.

"You might want to sit down for this one"

"Get on with it Connor" I said sternly and he stared at the floor without a word.

"Two months ago I caught Courtney cheating on me with Chris back when we were still dating but I had no proof to show so I just broke up with Courtney instead and then Chris got a girlfriend who wasn't even interested in him, somehow she got with him just so she could be closer to me which I wasn't aware of . Then one night at this really crazy party, Laura and I were really drunk and —"

" Wait a minute, Laura? As in Laura from that creek party?" I asked wide eyed for clarification purposes

"Yes, that Laura" He replied

"But it didn't look like they were dating "

"They were but you didn't notice them being all over each other, besides it's not like you know much about anyone at school"

"That's not true" I said with a small frown

"Ok then, name one thing you know about Shawn Bradson"

Shawn Bradson? Who's that?

"Who's Shawn Bradson?" I asked and Connor scoffed

"He's the guy whose house we are in right now. It's his party" Oh I see ...Well in my defense no one told me whose party I will be attending, and who is he anyway?

"Well how was I supposed to know?, you didn't tell me, besides I'm pretty sure he's not that popular if I don't know him" I said and Connor scoffed

"My point exactly and he's the school team's quarterback" I threw my hands up in the air in resignation

"Fine, maybe you're kind of right"

"Kind of?" He arched a brow with a smirk and I rolled my eyes.

"Just get back to the story Connor " I said and he sighed again. Ok, is it just me or Connor has sighed more times than I can count.

"So  Laura and I were really drunk at this crazy party and I woke up with Laura in my arms the next morning, Chris thought Laura had cheated on him with me but none of that was true, pictures were already circulating round the school about me and Laura's crazy night together, I didn't bother denying any of it because it was no use and I thought of it as my revenge against Chris but it wasn't enough, so recently I found about Chris' crazy crush on you but he can't approach because of  Jake so I just thought that if he always saw us together he'll get really jealous, then I thought of just bringing you to the party to rile him up even more and you know the rest" He ended slowly and I just stared at him but he wouldn't look me in the eye, he was avoiding my gaze

I didn't know what to make of this story. So all this while I had been a pawn is Connor's crazy revenge game.

"So all this has been a game to you?" I asked in a soft voice cringing at how much I let him know he affected me.

"Jasmine I'm sorry I promise I —" He rushed to get on his feet

"I'm going home " I cut him off and headed for the door in a hurry.

"I can take you home, it's late" He rushed out but I held the door knob tight and opened the door.

"You don't have to bother, I've played my role and you don't have to act like you care, Chris isn't here " I said coldly with glistening eyes holding back unshed tears and a crooked smile which I know is really weird.
