The steady bassline of music, clinking glasses, murmurs, laughter, and the occasional sound from the pool table - everything seemed the same in the cozy little bar, except for the unique aura one person added to the atmosphere.
Wooyoung leaned on the bar counter, arms folded, dark eyes scanning someone. The new act had just stepped onto the small stage set in a nearby corner-a dim spotlight trailing the tall figure dressed in sleek black with faint glimmers of silver threaded into the cuffs. His raven coloured hair tousled just right, his smile mysterious but interesting enough to draw the bartender's attention.

Choi San; The newly recruited magician.

Wooyoung's eyebrows were already arched with skepticism. He'd seen illusionists before-some decent, most forgettable. His brother, Hongjoong, loved the idea of "entertainment variety," and Wooyoung... tolerated it. Barely.

But something about this one already felt different.

San opened his act pulling a fluttering string of colourful cards from behind a customer's ear, flipping them mid-air, and making them vanish before their eyes. Then came levitating rings, fire that turned into flower petals, and even a dancing flame that settled in the palm of his hand before winking out like a firefly.

San scanned the crowd in between acts, his gaze sweeping with grace-and then it landed on him.
The bartender; Wooyoung.

He stood at the counter with arms crossed, eyes sharp and unreadable, and yet... San noticed that his eyes were shining. They were focused entirely on San, tracking every motion, reading his every move. San's lips curved slightly. "So I do have his attention"

San kept performing with more intensity, each trick more daring than the last-interacting with customers, making objects disappear from one table and reappear at another. He heard their laughter, applause, and gasps. But his own attention kept circling back to that one pair of eyes behind the bar.

And San was nothing if not a little bold.

For his final act of the night, San stepped off the stage and made his way to the bar with casual elegance.
Wooyoung locked eyes with him.
"May I?" San asked, eyes glinting as he gestured toward a wine glass on the counter.

Wooyoung narrowed his gaze. "Depends."
"On?" San tilted his head, his intrigue catching the bartender's attention even more.
"Whether you're about to ruin one of my good glasses", Wooyoung muttered.
San chuckled, voice low and velvety. "Wouldn't dream of it, Mr-?"
"Jung Wooyoung..", Wooyoung handed him the clean red wine glass, a bit skeptical.
