I sat in my bed watching Law and Order while Tinka laid across my legs, fully locked in on her iPad, whispering cuss words under her breath every time she missed a shot in Call of Duty. Ari was curled up beside me, her head resting on my shoulder, fighting to keep her eyes open. Her breath was soft, steady, and I could feel the warmth of it every time she exhaled.
The room was quiet except for the TV and Tinka's occasional "bruh" or "move!" She wasn't yelling, just focused. I smirked watching her, it was always funny how serious she got over games. I reached down and lightly ran my fingers across the back of her hoodie. She didn't say anything, but I saw the small smile pull at her lips for a second before she tried to hide it.
Ari shifted a little, nuzzling closer. "It's cold," she mumbled, her voice low and sleepy.
"I told you to bring your blanket," I whispered, brushing a curl out of her face.
"You said I could use yours," she replied, eyes still closed.
I sighed playfully and pulled the edge of my comforter over her shoulder. "There. Happy now?"
She nodded slowly, her lips barely curling up. "Mmhmm. You're warm."
She put her hands in my pants letting her hands explore my body as she dosed off.
Tinka suddenly groaned and sat up halfway, tossing her iPad on the bed. "I swear they be cheating. Ain't no way that sniper hit me from across the whole map."
"Maybe you just suck," I teased.
She turned around with a fake gasp, crawling up closer toward me. "Wow. that's not cool."
I laughed, nudging her away with my knee. "You a big ole cry baby. Yeah, I said what I said."
Ari peeked one eye open and smiled lazily. "Y'all loud. I was almost dreaming."
"About me?" Tinka asked, raising an eyebrow.
Ari rolled her eyes but laughed. "No. About waffles."
I snorted. "You and those damn waffles."
We all laughed a little.
Tinka laid back down, this time laying her head gently against my stomach, quiet now. Ari's hand found mine under the blanket and laced our fingers together without a word.
My other hand rubbed circles on Tinkas belly , it seemed to be getting bigger by the day .
"Me and the baby feeling a little hungry" she said with a little smirk creeping up on her face .
I just knew she was finna bring up food .
"What my son wanna eat," I questioned with a big smile on my face.
