Bonnie was sitting with Caroline in Mystic Grill, chatting happily together, as the city was quiet and free of its usual hustle and bustle.. Bonnie interrupted her, asking nervously "What is Klaus doing here?"

Caroline whispered in shock, quickly looking behind her "What?"

Klaus was walking inside with confident, regal steps, as if he owned the place.. Caroline was ready to shower him with stinging words for not keeping his promise not to come back again.. But he simply passed her and continued on his way to a table not far from theirs.. A blonde she had never seen before was sitting at the table, engrossed in a book and sipping her coffee.. She exchanged a puzzled look with Bonnie, deciding to eavesdrop.

At a table not far away, Klaus stood for a few seconds, studying the blonde's face with a vague expression.. Then he decided to join her, saying simply "Isn't that enough?"

The blonde looked up at him, angrily "Klaus! What are you doing here?"

He gave her a look meant really!! Then he answered her with the same calmness "I came to meet you"

She answered him with a tone full of resentment "We agreed"

Klaus pursed his lips, saying calmly, his anger simmering behind it "We didn't agree on this.. We agreed you would have the time and space to do whatever you wanted.. But we didn't agree we would come to a city that was more like a war zone for the supernatural, Camille"

Camille responded sharply "I wasn't going to stay here for long.. I was just passing through"

He frowned, shouting angrily "Really, what have you been doing here for two weeks?"

She almost threw the contents of her cup at him, asking sharply "Are you tracking me?"

He rolled his eyes, saying simply "I'm keeping track of your news so I don't lose you as a result of your recklessness"

She threw the book in her hands at him, shouting angrily "Klaus!"

He easily picked it up and placed it next to him, then took her hands in his, asking in a soothing tone "Isn't six months away from the family enough?"

"It's too little time, Klaus" She replied weakly.

He squeezed her hands, saying in a distant, absent-minded voice "If there's anything I've learned in the past few years, it's time is precious and not a moment should be wasted"

She lowered her face, looking at his hand that was embracing hers on the table, saying with emphasis on his words "I know, Klaus.. I'm the one who knows best how true your words are.. Weren't they all just small moments when I lost everything?"

Klaus sighed guiltily, feeling that every disaster had befallen her life was his fault, even if indirectly "I'm truly sorry, love"

She smiled weakly, saying in a low tone "There's nothing to apologize for, Klaus.. Everything happened in my life was the result of my choices.. No one pushed me to make a decision.. So don't apologize"

 "So?" He asked tenderly.

She took a deep breath, then pulled her hand away from his to pick up her cup and fiddle with it, answering softly "I just... I would like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it"
