Hayley and Freya were waiting for Hope to arrive home.. Hayley received a call from the school administration informing her that Hope had left school without telling anyone.. When she called her daughter, she noticed she was angry and told her, she was returning home.. Rebekah, who was visiting the city, was enjoying the rebellion of her niece... Hope stormed into the house angrily and shouted in dismay "How dare they?"
"What happened?" Hayley asked cautiously.
Hope replied with staggering anger "A woman sent a book about my father entitled The Great Evil... Full of everything evil she thought my father had done... And the school administration proudly placed it in the library without verifying its authenticity"
Hayley asked again "Who is that woman?"
She took a deep breath and answered sharply "A woman named Cami O'Connell"
Freya intervened in the conversation, saying gently "Actually, I'm who sent this book to the school at the request of your father"
She looked at her in surprise while Hayley continued with tenderness "And also every word in that book is true.. Your father dictated his memories to Cami, and she only wrote them down.. She was only his stenographer"
Hope moved her gaze between Hayley and Freya... And that intimacy that appeared in the tone of her mother's voice when she said her name... Did she know that Cami before?!! She fixed her gaze on Freya, who whispered in astonishment "He named her Cami, not Camille"
Hayley answered with nostalgia "It's the name he puts in every place that related to her now.. He knows she preferred Cami to Camille"
"Who is she?" Hope asked confused.
"Camille O'Connell, your father's lost love" Freya answered sadly.
Hope looked at her mother in stupor, as if asking her to confirm her aunt's words.. Hayley nodded and continued smoothly "The human who stole your father's heart"
Rebekah, who had been silent from the beginning, intervened "which was surprising"
Hope asked calmly as a person who received a huge shock.. In all her years, no one had told her about her father's romantic side.. To be fair, she never asked about that side at all.. The general picture painted of her father doesn't support the idea of him falling in love "Why?"
Rebekah answered as she sat upright "Because Nik always had no appreciation for humans.. He always treated them with disdain and contempt.. He considered them the weakest part in the food chain.. So seeing him respect a human was very surprising"
Freya smiled sadly, saying "I may not have known her for a long time, but she was one of the nicest people I knew"
Hayley confirmed Freya's words with compassion "Freya is right.. I think what Klaus loved most about her was her open mind and kind heart"
Hope sat down and said with great curiosity "How was their relationship? Tell me about her and them"
The three of them smiled and exchanged glances, calmly circling around Hope.. She wanted to know more about her father.. Camille also deserved to be known by Hope.. What Camille had given to Klaus was priceless.. Rebekah began, saying with a slight laugh "I think their relationship was a combination of all relationships... Two strangers met and had common interests... Klaus took advantage of Camille for a while, and when she found out about his actions, she became angry and became his enemy... Then something happened, made them friends again... Then best friends, then lovers... Then they break up, then they get back together to ultimately have the most sad, tragic ending"
Hayley placed his hand on Hope's knee, calling for her attention and saying with longing, "Camille was one of the smartest people I've ever met.. She had a heart that could contain the whole world.. She was kind, compassionate and had a distinct sense of humor.. She was strong, bold and didn't fear anyone.. Of course, she was afraid at some situation, but she was able to hide her fear.. She always stood for her principles, no matter who she faced"
Freya replied with a slight laugh "She also had a dark side that was capable of driving Nik crazy.. I enjoyed what she was doing to him"
"How did they meet?" Hope asked with great interest.
Rebekah answered in a simple voice "They met on the same night that Klaus learned he was expecting a child.. Elijah told me they met in front of a painting that an artist was painting.. Camille described the painting as if she was describing Nik and the path of his life.. I believe that moment is what made Klaus always sought her to talk"
Hayley continued faintly "In short, as a result of Camille's ability to understand and listen.. Your father compelled Camille to listen to him and write down his memories.. Then Davina, whom Camille considered to be a younger sister, undo your father's compulsion.. Camille became very angry with him.. Then she had the opportunity to punish your father with the help of the witches but she chose your father over her anger... And ever since then, Camille has always put Klaus as her top priority"
Hayley and Rebekah rushed to talk about Klaus's relationship with Camille until Camille and Hayley rescued Klaus from Aurora's clutches.. Hope faintly interrupted them "Why are you talking about her in the past tense?"
Freya answered in a sad tone "Because she died in Klaus's arms.. She died in front of his eyes and he wasn't able to save her.. She died in his hands as revenge on him.. He did the impossible to save her but he couldn't.. I believe a part of Nik's soul left with Cami's departure.. I never saw him as sad as I saw him on the day she died"
"I don't remember her" Hope whispered sadly, a tear falling from her eyes.
Hayley replied with a deep sigh "You were very young when she died... But she loved you very, very much... Klaus trusted her so much that he would leave you in her care, trusting she wouldn't allow any creature to harm you"
"What's she look like?" Hope asked eagerly.
"Wait a minute" Freya murmured, standing up.
Then she left and came back carrying a sketch, saying as she gave it to her "I found it in Nik's room"
Hope opened the sketch with a frown to see different paintings of a very beautiful woman.. In one of those pictures there was a woman carrying her.. She whispered as she looked at it intently "Is this her?"
Freya made an emphatic sound and Hope said gently "She is very beautiful.. My father put all his passion and love into painting her to produce these drawings with such beauty and accuracy"
At night, in her room, Hope was in her room contemplating Camille's drawings.. Her father must have really loved her.. Her details couldn't have been that precise unless her father was truly passionate about her and loved her madly.. She moved her thumb over Camille's features to say with gratitude "I may don't know you.. But thank you for taking care of me.. For loving my father.. For making him believe he deserves love.. For taking care of him.. Thank you so much, Auntie Cami"
