Klaus was standing in the entrance of his house, watching his daughter playing in the spacious garden of the house... A nice house in one of the rural town of France... After being separated from his daughter for very long five years, they were reunited again... Klaus made his decision to leave the city that he had established as his home, leaving behind his back its disputes and disagreements for the sake of his daughter.. For the sake of being a good father to his daughter as she wanted.. She is his precious pearl.. She is his guardian angel.. She is his shining beacon.. She is his incomplete joy.. She is his sadness that resides in his chest always and forever.

He smiled expectantly, his eyes like the eyes of a hawk, watching his daughter carefully and not losing sight of her for a minute, no matter how far his mind wandered.. He saw her bending down to the ground, holding a white bird in her hands.. It had a broken wing, which made it easy for her to catch it.. He saw her stealthily remove the bracelet that controlled her magic, and under her breath, she chanted a small healing spell.. The bird flapped its broken wing, singing happily.. Hope laughed happily, then kissed its bright feathers and released it into the air.. The bird hovered above her head for a moment as if to thank her, then flew off into the distance.. Klaus approached her and said with admiration "What a lucky bird to receive the attention of an angel like you"

Hope's eyes widened in surprise at her father's appearance and seeing what happened.. Then she smiled shyly at her father's praise, saying solemnly "You're not going to tell Mommy, are you?"

Klaus moved his finger to his mouth as if closing a zipper with a lock and throwing away the key, saying conspiratorially "It's our little secret"

Hope giggled playfully and then asked seriously "Are there angels in our world, Daddy?"

Klaus thought for a moment, then nodded yes with a deep sigh.. Hope's eyes widened with excitement and curiosity "Have you met one before?"

"Yes, I've met one before" Klaus replied confidently.

"What does it look like?" Hope asked excitedly.

Klaus took a deep breath and answered in a passionate, sad tone "She was extremely beautiful.. She had white skin as pure as milk.. Green eyes as bright as the green of those meadows.. golden hair as bright as the sun's rays.. She looked like a piece of the heaven"

Hope asked in amazement as she heard that sweet description from her father "Where is she now?"

Klaus responded with a smile as he looked at the sky.. For a small moment, he thought her face was imprinted on the page of the sky "She returned to where she came from.. She went back to the heaven"

Hope frowned sadly, saying wishfully "I wish I had met her"

Klaus carried her tenderly in his arms, taking her home so she could get her lunch, muttering sadly under his breath "I wish you had met her, little one"

Ten years later

Klaus was walking with Hope in Salvatore garden, where he used to visit her at school.. She was clinging to his arm, telling him about the different spells she had learned.. When her eyes fell on a white bird similar to the one she had seen on that distant day when her father lied to her about the existence of angels on Earth.. She asked with an angry frown "Daddy, why did you lie to me that day?"

Klaus grimaced at his child's unexpected question and the sudden change in her mood, asking in confusion "What day, Hope?"

She pointed to the white bird on a tree branch, answering with explanation "That day when I repaired the wing of a bird like this... When I asked you about angels, you said they are with us and that you met one... But later I learned they only exist in fairy tales"

Klaus answered with conviction "They exist, Hope.. They don't necessarily have supernatural abilities or white wings as the fairy tales describe them"

He was silent for a while as she observed her father's features, which were covered with deep sadness.. Klaus continued his speech, feeling a painful twist in his heart "She was an angel on earth, but now she's gone back to heaven"

Hope remembered her father's old description of the angel he met.. A description that always stuck in her mind with the image of angels.. Whenever she wanted to imagine and draw an angel, her father's description would flow into her mind.. She whispered in a humble voice "Who is she, Daddy? Do I know her?"

Klaus simply shrugged "Maybe... I don't know how much Hayley told you about the people who were around you at the beginning of your life"

"Did she know me?" Hope asked curiously.

Klaus replied with a tender smile filled with nostalgia "Yes, she knows you and loves you too.. I left you in her care for a few days when you were young"

"Who is she?" Hope asked, desperate to know.

He took a long breath and said with a painful smile "Camille O'Connell"

Hope whispered with a mind lost in a distant memory "Mommy told me about her.. She said she was a loyal friend and ally of our family... and you also revered and appreciated her very much"

"Just that?" Klaus asked with furrowed eyebrows.

Hope raised her shoulders and answered gently "Yes, Mama told me the rest of her story isn't hers to tell me.. And from what you said now, the rest of her story is yours to tell, right?"

Klaus looked at the sky for a long time, trying to ease the pain in his heart, then he answered in a distant voice lost in his memories "Camille was exactly as Hayley told you.. but.. I didn't just appreciate her, Hope, I loved her.. She was my everything.. She was my love who I lost before showing her how much I loved her.. She was my angel who helped me be a father worthy of you.. After her death, she became the angel on my shoulder and the voice of reason in the back of my mind to straighten me up when I deviated from the path I had set for myself"

Hope asked in shock as she heard her father's words that she had never imagined hearing.. She didn't know why she couldn't imagine her father in the role of a romantic lover "What is your story with her, Dad?"

Klaus smiled and said with a promise as he placed his hand on her shoulder urging her to walk with him "One day I will take you to her grave and introduce you to her and tell you everything about her.. Her birthday will be next month.. I will tell you then.. Now show me that spell you recently learned"

She obeyed him and walked with him, responding enthusiastically to his promise and request "Okay, let's do it"
