Hidden Intentions

16. Back home

I'm back home for a few days only to get my hair and nails done for the wedding, then I'll be going back up. Since I came back home on the weekend I did not have a chance to attend last week of band camp so I'll just have to wait until pre drill.

My phone vibrated and I looked down to see Jason had texted me.

Jason: "Are you back home yet?"

Me: "yes"

Jason: "can we do something today, haven't seen you in forever"

Me: "I would like that ☺️"

Jason: "ok I'll come pick you up in a few"

I texted him back and decided to go get ready, I spent 20 minutes in front of my closet thinking of something to wear. Because we're only going to chill I decided on some jean shorts and a fitted t shirt with my all black vans.

I love to dress casual a lot and sometimes I end up looking like a cute tomboy.

After another twenty minutes Jason texted me and said he was outside, I was currently home alone so I felt as if I didn't have to notify anybody of my whereabouts. I was really nervous but I didn't let it get to me.

I walked outside and got into the car where we greeted each other.

"Hey, you look beautiful"

"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself"

He chuckled. "Oh you got jokes? Thank you though"

"So where are we going"

"You'll see calm down"

"I am calm"

We continued having a random conversation until he pulled up to a park.

"I remember you said you like taking walks in the park so I brought you here and they have swings over there and I know you love being on them"

I looked at him impressed. "Wow you remember all that"

"Of course I did" as we began walking around towards the swings it was a little quiet. "Shanice I really need to tell you something"

The way his voice dropped down had let me know that whatever he was about to say is serious "What is it?"

"We been talking for a really long time a couple of months to be exact, I understand how you wanted to keep us a secret and all from everybody, but I don't think I can do that much longer"

"Uh so what are you trying to say"

"My feelings for you grew a lot over the past couple months and I'm trying to say that I want to make us official."

"Like boyfriend/girlfriend official?"

We both laughed at how I was playing dumb. "Yes Shanice, boyfriend/girlfriend official. So what do you say? Would you be my girl?"

"Yes, I would love to"

My mind was going crazy with different thoughts I just said yes to be in a relationship with this guy but there's one problem, one person that keeps popping up in my head. Paul. I think I know why he keeps popping up but I'm just going to put it in the back of my mind now.

We got to the swings and I got on and he decided to push me at first before he got on the swings next to me.

"So you remember me telling you about college right?"

Jason recently just graduated so he's going off to college too, Florida Mechanical and Agricultural University, same as Paul. I always found it funny how their birthdays are right after each other, they graduated the same year, and going to the same school.
