Spring concert was fun, I felt accomplished, I went through hell and back with the music we played this year and to play it one last time knowing we were rated superior is an awesome feeling.

Graduation was even better, a lot of people cried, but not I. I was happy as hell that I made it through, I didn't celebrate that much considering my party is coming up in a couple of days.

The drama that I recently just went through is now all over and I have nothing to worry about anymore.

"Jhanae I'm going to the mall I'll be back" I grabbed my keys off the table.

"Wait, what for, I want to come"

"I'm not doing anything, I'm just going to buy Paul his birthday present"

"Isn't his birthday tomorrow?"

"Yes, let's go"

When we got to the mall Jhanae started doing her own thing so I just went inside the store I needed to get Paul his present.

"Hello would you like any help today?" The sales associate asked.

"Yea, can I get these in a size eleven please" I asked pointing to the purple vans that were on display.

"Boy or girl size?" He asked.

"Boy" he nodded before going to the back. Jhanae came out of no where asking me questions.

"Are you going to buy him weed socks too?"

"No nigga, where you came from?"

"I was right there"

"Here you go ma'am. Is there anything else I can help you with or that's it" the sales associate asked.

"No, that's it, thank you" he nodded while walking behind the desk to ring me up. I payed for the shoes and was on my way out.

*************

It's Paul's birthday and the day before my grad party, so I know I have a lot of errands to run today.

I made sure I told Paul happy birthday as soon as 12:00 hit early this morning. I was being a little extra in the chat and making sure everybody else told him happy birthday, I wasn't serious, it was funny though.

I was out with my dance captain, she's basically the host of the party.

"Did you invite your Bestfriend" she asked.

"No"

"Why not?"

"Cause remember Haitians are going to be there so it's really not a party that he's going to be interested in"

"Girl, I told yall to invite all of yall friends so it doesn't become a Haitian party, I'm going to invite him, what's his number."

I was hesitant about giving her his number, because she's like a mother to me and she knows everything that's going on. The minute she has his number she'll probably call him and talk about our situation and I don't want that. I decided to state his number from my memory, just so I can get it wrong on purpose, cause I'm pretty sure I don't know it by head for real, or do I?

After I told her the number I checked my phone, and it was the right number, how the hell. When did I memorize it? Oh well.

"He ain't answer" I smiled to myself but knowing Paul he'll call the number right back.

"Never mind he's calling back"

"Hi, is this Paul?" She asked. "Hi, this is Karen, Shanice's dance captain..."
