Endless war

Seven days and seven nights passed by. Everyone waited in anticipation, waiting to see if she would rise again or fall and they would start over with Yugi being the next to sacrifice himself against the stone's will. Nurgül had arrived at the camp worried and a crying mess not believing what had happened. A Li was calmer than the adults surrounding him surprising them with how well he was taking it. Back in Yugi's mansion Atem gave him the control back.

Atem was depressed and in denial that she was gone. Not being able to go back and make sure she'd be actually alive tore him up inside. He was also worried for the girls, not knowing what had happened to them. Since the communication after what he pulled was cut off, Yugi kept in touch with Zhao Jian on what was happening and where the girls were but was warned not to tell Atem. Amane was even given a chance to visit them.

Angela would disappear into the streets and underground to check what Solmas had given her the mission to do. Solmas, under Darkus's command, gave her a mission to locate the actual body of the Pharaoh, or, as she knew him, the Empyrean. She knew war was coming, and she needed to protect herself and her child. She also knew that the current physical strength of the Pharaoh wasn't enough to protect even himself.

Running around the endless mazes underground she met with the shrine along her maid who helped her with the lighting. "Ma'm there seems to be some sort of magic mechanism." The lady stuck her hand inside only to have it pierced by the mechanism that opens the door. Covering her mouth Angela helped her get it out and was relieved when it was only a scratch. After helping her in banding it they proceeded to arrive at the coffin sealed with ice.

"Is this it?" The maid gawked at it as Angela took out an orb. "Primal fire heed my cry make my infernal fire ignite, and break this phantom ice made of Ruo River water in this fight." Angela recited as she used her powers fueling the orb to melt the ice that coated the coffin. After a few layers closer to it she stopped the fire and approached it as it melted slowly and placed the orb in the middle. She looked at the maid who cheered on her when Angela grabbed her took a knife and sliced her throat.

On top of the coffin smashing the crystal glass that lay over the empyrean. "My love my offering to you." Angela left as the blood dripped onto the remnants of the ice that covered the empyrean's body. At the same time, Atem was having a high fever and was in bed coughing feeling drained. "This is what you get for staying late at night outside staring at the walls of this place." Aiyan scolded as she ran a rag over his body. "You don't need to help me Angela will get here in a few." Atem tried being nice to her only earning a scowl from the other woman.

"I don't get what you see in her... anyway she's always out this time right might as well help her out." Aiyan sighed annoyed knowing Angela upon seeing them would make a scene. Angela entered Atem's chamber happily and ignored Aiyan the loser made your fever go down?" Angela checked him only for him to take her hand away gently. "Can you both leave I want to rest." Atem tried getting them to budge. "She's here now so get well my pharaoh." Aiyan bowed and left while Angela scolded her for addressing Atem that way.

I now have to find the millennium items. Angela thought as she helped the pharaoh cover himself after she convinced him to spend the afternoon together. "You'll get sick because of me and it will affect the baby." Atem coughed as she clicked her tongue. "I would've been sick since the first night." Angela was buttoning his shirt as she turned to him. "Are you sure you don't need it?" Angela twirled in it trying to entertain him. "I feel hot right now I don't need it." Atem turned around in the bed covering himself with the blanket. Angela shook her head upon seeing him do that and left to search for the millennium items.
