~~ Sophia's POV ~~
"Flight 647 to Frankfurt, Germany now boarding," The flight attendant said into the speaker.
I looked around the airport to find the guys, they left to use the restroom but they sure as hell are taking long. Finally, I see my dad walking towards me.
"All first class passengers please board," the flight attendant said as I get up and grab my backpack.
"Ready to board kiddo?" My dad asks
I nod, "Where are the others?"
"They're coming, they wanted to grab some snacks but they were paying when I left. Don't worry." He hands me my ticket as he grabs his bag, "Now let's go board first class!"
"This is gonna be fun!" I say as I give my ticket to the flight attendant then begin making my way towards to the plane. I stop before I enter, letting people pass me, I look at my dad as he turns around and notices me not behind him. I felt as if my lungs were being ripped out and my stomach was being squished by an elephant. I've never been on a plane before!
You here all these things about planes crashing and being hijacked by terrorists. I start to hear my father call my name but his voice is all fuzzy.
"Did you know that terrorists are called terrorists because that's what they do. They bring terror to things. Anxiety is kind of the same thing to terrorism, you know? It's like your mind is a terrorist bringing the violence and terror to your self-conscious." I blurted out as my dad takes me to the side of the jet bridge, "I've never been on an airplane before and you never think of the possible outcomes of being in one until you get the chance to actually be in one, you know?"
He nods, "There's nothing to worry about."
"I wish my mind knew that," I say as I sigh. I kept my eyes at the door of the plane, the flight attendant greeting the people with a huge smile on her face, "She's done it so many times. Doesn't she fear that today will be the day that something wrong will happen?"
"It's normal to have an anxiety attack on your first time, okay?" I keep looking at the lady hoping she would turn her smile into a straight face, hoping she would finally realize it all, I just needed her to feel the same way so then maybe I'd feel a bit better to know that I am not the only one thinking the same thing. "Darling, look at me," my dad says as he puts his hands on my face so I can look into his eyes, "It's all going to be okay. If the plane wasn't safe to fly they wouldn't place all these people in danger in the first place."
"But anything bad can happen any second. The planes on 9/11 were perfectly safe, no one saw that coming." I start to look around.
"Hey, everything okay here?" Jaime asks as the guys get on the plane.
My dad nods and Jaime gets on the plane, "Sweetheart you have to get on the plane. You'll be safe trust me..." I look down, "You trust me, don't you?"
I nod as I wipe away the tears forming in my eyes, "I trust you, I just want my mind to stop thinking of all the bad outcomes."
He bends down a little so he can be at my height, "Then you fill your mind with all the positive outcomes. Once we land safely you won't be afraid to fly again... Trust me. You're going to love flying.." He looks into my eyes and gives me an empathetic smile, "I know how you feel. I had an anxiety attack when I first rode on an airplane... But I'm still alive... Now please get on the plane... I think they are waiting for us." He says as he looks at the flight attendant who smiles at us. Easier said than done.
I nod and he smiles and takes my hand, "Here I go," I whisper as I enter the plane.
I seated next to the window and my dad was next to me, "We can change seats if you want."
