Jacin screamed, his voice hoarse. He pounded at the concrete floor of the cell, and glared ferociously at Levana.

What A-

"Don't you even dare try and call me something foul, Jacin Clay." Levana's voice drawled, her blood red lips coiled into a feline smile. "Now...Tell me, where is my Emperor?"

Jacin clenched his teeth determined not to talk.

"Tell me, or I'll cut out your tongue!" Levana snapped. Jacin clenched his teeth harder. His jaws snapped so hard together that his teeth threatened to break.

"Or rather, would you like it if your friend's tongue were cut out? Or maybe another scar to add to that pretty face of hers."

Jacin's heart skipped a beat. A falling feeling overtook his nerves, and he sucked in gasps for air.

"You wouldn't, not when half of Luna suspects you already," Jacin growled, but the sinking feeling in his chest grew.

"I see you find a limb or maybe a few, to be to heavy. Why don't I get rid of one? Maybe two." Levana's voice was teasing, "Sometimes, being in love can be cruel enough" she hissed.

"JACIN! You're back!" A familiar voice squealed.

Jacin's heart dropped out of his ribcage.

"WINTER RUN!" He screamed, he lunged out towards the bars, but the Lunar Steel slammed him back against the wall.

Winter looked confused, as Levana threw a dagger at her face. Winter's hand rose, to cover her face, Jacin thought. He threw himself at the barred door again.

The whistling of the blade hurtling through the air made Jacin's heart hurt, as if he had lost her already.

Then it stopped.

The whistling silenced as Winter grabbed the knife, blade first, a drop of blood falling from the palm of her hand.

Everyone blinked. Once. Twice.

Winter smiled.

"Are we playing catch, mother? Can Scarlet and Jacin play too? It would be wonderful if Selene could play with us. It's really too bad that she turned to ashes." Winter frowned.

"What? Wha-" Levana stumbled on her words.

"Catch, mother," Winter hurled the blade toward Levana. The blade spun in place, aimed straight for Levana's eye. She leaped out of the way. The blade embedded itself in the wall.

There was a scream.

And Scarlet burst through the door.
