You were in a club with your friends.
They had dragged you here to dance.
You were a popular street dancer.
People thought you had some training or were an award winner, but honestly you weren't.
You didn't care about others watching you, like normal people did.
You closed your eyes and followed the beat.
That's all.
Dancing freed you.
Even though you knew that if your strict parents caught you dancing they would probably disown you, you took that risk.
You needed the relief from the stress your parents forced upon you.
Tonight, you didn't want to come.
You had been asked out by the boy you had a crush on for three months.
Only to have him cancel last minute because he found someone "better."
You were very upset.
So your friends had brought you to this new club to cheer you up.
You had yet to dance.
When the song "Evacuate the Dance Floor" started to play, you smiled softly.
Your friends pushed you onto the dance floor.
"Here goes the famous Y/N Y/L/N," the DJ said, "Ready to get the party started."
You closed your eyes before starting to move to the beat.
Someone stepped in front of you and you opened your eyes.
A really cute guy was smiling at you.
He took off his jacket and tossed it to the side, dancing.
When he stopped, he winked at you.
"Oh! Looks like we have an old-fashioned dance off!" you heard the DJ announce.
The club cheered.
You and the handsome stranger went back and forth.
Until you decided to push the boundaries.
You pressed your back to his chest and the two of you moved together.
It made your heart beat faster as you danced as one.
His touch was so gently, it made you hold your breath.
When he faltered and tripped, landing on the ground, the club cheered.
You had won.
You held out your hand and he grabbed it.
You helped him to his feet.
"Nice moves, stranger," you smiled.
"You have some amazing ones. I'm Ren McCormack," he said, holding out his hand.
"Y/N Y/L/N," you introduced, shaking it.
"You should teach me your moves sometimes," he said.
"Only if you buy me dinner one day," you winked.
"It's a deal," he laughed.
"This feels like the beginning of a beautiful relationship," you grinned.
When he suddenly yanked you close and kissed you, you felt fireworks.
Oh, this was definitely the beginning of something wonderful.
In that moment, nothing else mattered.
You were as free as when you danced.
He pulled away.
"Woah," he said.
You laughed.
"I only feel that way when I dance," he said.
"Same for me," you admitted.
"Do you know what this means?" He asked.
"What?" you questioned, curiously.
"We're meant to be!" He grinned.
A new song began to play and you smiled.
"Shut up and dance."
