You were hanging out with Leo.
You, being a child of Athena, had been tasked with teaching him the basics of self defense.
But he was adorkably funny.
You soon bonded, creating a friendship.
Right now, you were in the middle of another lesson.
Leo was learning how to use a dagger.
"Your swings are off," you noted.
"Swings can be off?" he asked, turning to face you.
"Of course swings can be off," a voice behind you spoke.
You turned to see your best friend, Nico Di Angelo.
"Nico!" you smiled, "I haven't seen you in forever!"
You went to hug him, like you normally would when you saw him.
Nico side stepped, avoiding the hug.
"I've been busy," he shrugged.
You were hurt.
"I should go," Nico said, turning and walking away.
You watched him leave.
"Are you okay?" Leo asked, stepping in front of you.
There was nothing you could do to mask your emotions at the moment.
"Maybe that's enough practice for today," you said.
"Yeah, we can work on my swings tomorrow," he said, before leaving too, "Still not a thing."
You walked to Nico's cabin.
No way were you going to be hurt and not have an explanation why.
You knocked twice, firmly.
Nico opened.
"Oh, are you done hanging out with your boyfriend?" he asked, rolling his eyes, "DId you fix his swings?"
"Leo is not my boyfriend," you rolled your eyes, "I don't even like him like that. I was assigned to help him learn to protect himself. Now, why are you being like this with me?"
Nico was silent.
"Did I do something wrong?" you asked.
Nico looked at the floor.
"RIght. Okay," you scoffed.
A tear slipped out of your eye.
You turned away and began to walk away.
"Y/N, wait," Nico sighed.
You sighed and stopped before turning back to him.
"What?" you asked.
"I was jealous," he blurted out.
"I'm sorry, what?" you asked, surprised.
"I was jealous of you and Leo," Nico sighed, hanging his head.
You walked up to Nico.
"Why would you be jealous, Nico?" you asked.
"Because I'm in love with you, Y/N. I'm so in love with you it hurts," Nico admitted.
You laughed.
Nico stared at you.
"I love you, too," you said, kissing him carefully.
You pulled away, leaving Nico frozen.
When Nico shook it off, he grabbed you by your waist and pulled you close, kissing you deeply.
Leo came running up to you guys, panting.
"So, apparently, swings are a thing," he panted.
"What did you do?" you asked.
"The whole Ares cabin may or may not be after me," Leo shrugged.
You shoved him inside Nico's cabin, where they'd never think to look.
"You mind?" you asked Nico.
"Nope," Nico said, pulling you inside too.
"Woah, cool place!" Leo said.
"Now, what exactly did you do, Leo?" you questioned.
Nico shook his head.
"I can't believe I was jealous of him."
