Percy was in a coma from all his blood loss, they gave him a transfusion but he was still asleep.
Annabeth stayed with him everyday as Jason and Grover looked for Piper. Every now and them she'd get a desperate and angry response from her calls to Jason.
Every now and then Percy would move, Annabeth hoped he would wake up, but he never did.
Until today.
Annabeth fell asleep in the waiting room one night and woke up to a man snoring next to her.
Percy must've woken up during the middle of the night, changed back into his suit, and left his room.
"Percy!" She yelled. She threw her arms around his neck amd then quickly released. She had only met the man.
He laughed and winced like it hurt him.
"I'm sorry, I-I I didn't mean to um-" she stuttered.
"It's fine," Percy smiled. Annabeth had just noticed he was in a wheel chair, makes sense for a guy who got shot in the gut.
"How long was I unconcious?" He asked. "the wonderful nurse who discharged me left out that information."
"Three weeks," she said.
He looked stunned.
"Three weeks?! Oh man then Grover has had to find the victims by now!" He exclaimed.
Annabeth shook her head.
"Nothing, Grover is actually searching with Jason," she said.
Percys expression turned solemn.
"It's been three weeks, tell them to call off the search for hostages, they have to be dead by now," Percy said, "were looking for bodies now."
"Jason won't like the sound of that, I tried to tell him it was too late, but he's stubborn. And angry. He insists that they are alive, especially Piper."
Percy didn't respond for a while.
"Where are the now?"
"Let me check."
Annabeth pulled out her phone and texte Grover.
Percy's finally awake where are you?
A few mintues later he responded.
Kishell Factories
Annabeth told Percy and she wheeled him to her car.
"When do you get out of the wheelchair?" She asked as he lifted himself into the passenger seat, wincing.
He look down.
"Never, I'm paralyzed now."
