Frank and Hazel arrived at her parents house. She was shaking, her parents were... Different.
Her dad was a white man named Harold and her mother was a black woman named Marie.
Her father was born rich and her mother as poor as can be. They met one night when she was singing in a club for money and he fell instantly in love. She didn't. He had to ask her out about fifty times before she said yes.
How romantic.
Now they own that club and aquired a taste for the color purple and chinese music.
"I'm nervous," they said at the same time looking at the purple door to the spotless white mansion.
Frank pressed the purple doorbell.
Immediately a thin mixed raced couple dressed
In purple. Her father had a purple golf shirt with white slacks and her mother wore a lavender dress."Hazel! Oh it's so good to finally see you again! Oh and with such a handsome young man too!" Her mother shrieked.
Hazel and Frank were both blushing a deep shade of rose.
"Now Marie let's not let them stand out uere forever! Come in, come in!" Her father said:
She had some perky parents.
Her and Frank glanced at eachother.
"I'm sorry about them," she said quickly.
"No don't be, you're mom called me handsome. That's always a good sign... Right?" He replied.
They walked into the dining room.
A lavender carpet covered the floor and a deep violet table was surrounded by chairs in a lighter shade.
An assortmant of food filled the tavle like a thanksgiving feast. Her mothers gumbo was in the middle and plates of friend chicken, mashed potatoes, and biscuits spread around the table.
"Holy Lord in heaven on high this looks amazing," Frank said in a trance.
Her mother smiled, "Oh you flatter me."
"Lets eat!" Her father announced.
What could go wrong? Hazel thought.
