The storm's fury calmed as Huracán rose with Meda, Bacab, and their allies, greeted by Foundation soldiers and Iris, who offered her aid. Meda refused, spilling her own blood upon Iris's staff to resurrect fallen friend and foe alike, drawing awe and fear. Kali appeared, binding her children Huracán and Bacab together in kinship, while Meda's radiance restored life to the battlefield. She then confronted the Garrison commander, who revealed that their sister, Chalchiuhtlicue—goddess of rain and water—was imprisoned beneath Lake Baikal. His warning of a coming Siberian disaster set urgency into the company, for her unleashed rage could drown half of Irkutsk Oblast. Meda called Alpha-9 to board the Quinjet, joined by UNGOC and Nu-7, to fly at Mach 10 toward Baikal. Along the way, Jocasta relayed Meda's warnings to Russia, Mongolia, and China, spurring evacuations should the worst occur. As Baikal loomed below, Meda devised a strategy: Huracán to freeze, Bacab to anchor, Melusine to wall the waters, Rhogar to boil the barrier, while she herself would descend to face Chalchiuhtlicue and bear her fury if none else could.

The Quinjet shuddered around us as Jocasta banked north, Siberia unfolding beneath our wings like a frozen scar. UNGOC and Nu-7 had already peeled off, their dropships diving toward Olkhon Island thirty minutes ahead of us. Their engines carved streaks of white contrails across the sky, vanishing quickly into the pall of cloud. On the horizon, Lake Baikal glimmered faintly beneath its crust of ice — an inland sea older than empires, waiting for us.
I toggled the comms to encrypted wideband. My voice carried steady, clipped, sharpened to steel. This was no time for hesitation. "Чита-2, это О5-13, позывной "Меда". Запрашиваю немедленную поддержку с воздуха. Повторяю—немедленную поддержку с воздуха. (Chita-2, this is O5-13, callsign "Meda." Requesting immediate air support. I say again — immediate air support.)" Static hissed for half a second before the reply came, tight and professional. "О5-13, это Чита-2. Подтвердите цель и координаты.(O5-13, this is Chita-2. Confirm target and coordinates.)" I gave them the numbers, voice flat as iron. "Цель: остров Ольхон. Координаты: пятьдесят три градуса, двадцать четыре минуты север, сто семь градусов, сорок шесть минут восток. (Target: Olkhon Island. Coordinates: 53°24'00"N, 107°46'38"E.)" I leaned into the mic, voice firm. "Опасная близость. В районе работают союзные силы. Повторяю — свои войска в квадрате. (Danger close. Friendly forces are in the area. I say again — friendly forces in the box.)"
