As I tightened the straps on my suit, Jocasta approached, her gynoid body moving with that unnerving precision that somehow still felt human. Her golden eyes locked onto mine, her tone steady but grave. "Meda, I've been analyzing potential alternatives to Plan C." I raised an eyebrow, pausing as I adjusted my gauntlets. "You've got my attention. What've you got?"
She folded her arms, tilting her head slightly. "Hy-Brasil. It was destroyed in 1988 during a GoC operation to neutralize Brasil-001. They succeeded in inflicting severe injuries on the leviathan, forcing it to retreat, but at the cost of the entire island. The nukes left Hy-Brasil barren, irradiated, and uninhabitable—a wasteland that no living thing has set foot on in decades." The mention of Hy-Brasil hit like a gut punch. I paused, taking a moment to process it before meeting her gaze. "You're saying we use the island?"
"Exactly," Jocasta confirmed. "The radiation levels remain extreme," I said slowly, the gears in my mind already turning, "but for me, it's an opportunity. My ability to absorb energy—any energy—could turn the island's radioactive environment into a weapon. I could convert the radiation into magical energy and other usable forms. And if it comes down to it, I could trigger my Supernova form to take down Brasil-001 myself." Jocasta folded her arms, her expression sharp but thoughtful. "That's... ambitious. But it's not impossible." I gave her a faint smirk, my voice steady. "Exactly."
"It's also a significant risk," Jocasta cautioned. "But it eliminates the need for time reversal, avoids the coma-inducing strain of channeling the stones' power, and offers a direct solution if our primary plans fail." I gave her a small, wry smile. "Noted. I'll pitch it to the team once we're on the quinjet." The hangar was alive with the hum of preparation as I approached the team, already gathered by the quinjet. Nahash leaned casually against the side of the jet, but even she looked more serious than usual. "Alright, listen up," I said, stepping into the center of the group. "There's been a change. Same plan, different location—we're heading to Hy-Brasil." Alexei frowned, his amber eyes narrowing. "Гиперборея? Радиоактивный остров?" (Hy-Brasil? The radioactive island?)"
"Exactly," I said with a nod. "Here's the deal: Hy-Brasil's been a wasteland since '88 when the GoC nuked it to stop Brasil-001. Radiation levels are lethal to most, but for me? I can use it. I'll absorb the radiation, convert it into magical energy, and if necessary, trigger my Supernova form to finish Brasil-001 myself."
"Ты с ума сошла?(You've lost your mind?)" Alexei muttered under his breath. I shot him a small smirk. "I've done it before, Alexei. I can handle it. We need every edge we can get, and this gives us one hell of a backup." Nahash pushed off the jet, arms crossed. "You're sure you can handle that much energy without blowing yourself apart?" I nodded firmly. "I've handled worse. And if it comes to that, we'll make it count."
