To kill a monster (Elijah Mikaelson)

Chapter 8

"I'm guessing Klaus is still in mystic falls" Marcel observed as he reached the inside of the compound.

Why won't he leave me alone? Elijah thought as he was interrupted by Marcel's tedious observations "yes, he is" Elijah sighed

"And Sasha is still sulking?" He asked as if it were a joke

"Marcel I know you care for her that girl but I wish you'd give her just a shred of sympathy" Elijah snapped

"I gave her sympathy, 5 years ago when I found her somewhere to stay safe, when all the other witches were talking about putting her down" he retaliated

"I heard her story in full, I really think we should go a bit easier on her, she's not a child" Elijah said

"No, she's not, a child would act with caution where she just dives head first..." Marcel went to talk more but he was interrupted

"Id like to talk to the former king of New Orleans" the man in a suit, that almost matched Elijah walked in, he looked relaxed and a smug smile wiped across his face.

"Well you come to the right place" Marcel stepped forward "what do you want Daniel?"

Marcel glanced back at Elijah, as if to tell him to go and hide Sasha quickly. So Elijah quickly disappeared.

Sasha was in her room. She was searching through her closet when she found herself, directly in there. It was dark, the doors were shut and her heart raced.

The small crack in the door of her closet allowed her to see Elijah, who bent down slightly and slowly put his index finger to his lips. He mouthed the word 'sh' to tell her to be quiet.

She didn't know what was going on and she didn't need to, because she was already terrified.

"Daniel is downstairs" he whispered, and immediately she jumped into Elijah's arms

"Elijah don't leave me" she said before he could even finish his next sentence, he held her tightly and then pushed her away so he could look in her eyes.

"stay here, don't make a sound, Marcel is downstairs with him, I need to go and get Rebekah" he said

She shook her head violently "Elijah don't leave me please don't go" she begged

"I'll be less than 5 minutes" he reassured her. She gave him one last hug, Elijah closed his lips on the top of her head "be safe" he said "stay hidden"

She nodded, surprised that he actually kissed her forehead and scared that the guy that wanted to kill her was only a few feet away.

And with a whoosh, Elijah was gone. And she didn't have the time to grab on to his tie and drag him back. She was alone and her life depended on it.

"Where is she Marcel?" Daniel asked "I've asked you many times before and I've always let it slide, because I knew I'd find her, and now I'm giving you the chance to tell me" he smiled

"I don't know, she left 5 years ago, she's probably in college or with kids by now" Marcel told the same lie he had already told him

"You're lying again Marcel" he laughed "I thought you'd know better; because you don't really know that I have spent time with her, getting to know her" he stepped forward and looked around the room "I loved how I felt when she was near me, I knew she was near me even though she wasn't in sight, that's the feeling I craved for these years searching for her"

"What are you talking about? Marcel asked confused

"Right now, when I walked into the compound, I felt like I used to when I as around her. Marcel I know she's here and I've had enough of your lies" he flicked his hand and snapped Marcel's neck, he toppled to the floor lifeless.

Daniel looked up at the stairs. He knew she was up there. "Sash" he shouted "sweetie I know you're here"

Sasha heard his calls and pressed her hand over her mouth to muffle her heavy breathing.

"Come on babe, it's me" he kicked a door open, and then carried on down the corridor "you know, the one you love"

She almost laughed at the remark. Love wasn't the word.

Daniel's footsteps stopped as he burst open a door that had women's clothes scattered. This was where her presence felt stronger.

"I know you're in here" he said "honey, just come out"

She didn't move. She heard the floorboards creak as he got closer, through the crack she saw him on his knees, checking underneath the bed.

He groaned when there was nothing there. And then his gaze fixated on the closet where she was.

She shut her eyes, wishing that this was only a dream but when she opened her eyes. She gasped loudly.

"There you are Sasha" all she could see was his blue eye pressed against the crack. "You've been playing a long game"

He opened the door and yanked her out , pinning her against the wall by her neck.

"Elijah" she screamed "Marcel help me"

"Marcel's incapacitate a the moment and your other friend, well he ran off" he said

"Please don't kill me" she could taste her tears that ran from her eyes "please don't kill me I'll do anything"

He lightened his grip on her neck and looked at her weirdly "I'm not going to kill you, I thought you knew that, remember what..." The only words he could get out before Elijah had zoomed in and punched him straight in his jaw.

Sasha dropped on the floor and she quickly stumbled up. "If I were you, I'd leave" Elijah growled as the man rubbed his jaw

"Fine" he put his hands up in surrender "I'll go, but I'll be back to re claim my prize"

"I'm not your play toy" Sasha hissed, she stepped aside, clutching Elijah's arm as Daniel walked past in defeat.

"Are you okay?" Elijah made sure he had left before turning to a very distraught Sasha who felt so sick.

She nodded half heartedly before turning her head to shake it. Her hand pressed to her neck, which was red. She couldn't speak, she physically couldn't explain how she was feeling.

And then something clicked in her head. Something he said.

"He doesn't want to kill me" she said, pushing the words out "I told you we were linked, he needs me, when we split, he lost some of his magic and he wants it all back"

Elijah felt almost relieved to find out that he wasn't seeking to kill her. But still Daniel wanted her and he wasn't going to let her go.
