Chapter 24

"Up, out of bed now" Rebekah opened the door loudly and flung the curtains open to let in some light from the morning.

Sasha groaned and turned over to look at her phone to check the time. She threw it back down "Rebekah it's 6am!" She exclaimed "nobody is going to turn up at 6am"

"Can't be too careful sweetheart" Rebekah said sarcastically, flinging the covers off Sasha.

She realised that not even Elijah was in bed. They were all downstairs; waiting for her?

She dragged herself out of bed, almost lying on the floor in tiredness. She took a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt and slipped them on and quickly brushed her hair before quickly walking downstairs.

"How are you?" She got downstairs and she was inundated with so many questions. Sasha was only a small witch, nobody thought she could handle so much.

"I'm good, stop asking me" she snapped at whoever would molly coddle her, saying everything will be okay.

Just as she snapped, Elijah walked in with Tara beside him. "Are we all ready?"

Klaus had a white oak stake clutched in his right hand. He nodded his head slightly as to say he was, but a lot of people could see the fear in his eyes.

"Sasha" Tara walked to her, taking her hand "I've been talking to Elijah, you're not staying here, not for the fight"

"What?" She asked "what do you mean by I'm not staying?"

"It's too dangerous for you, we've agreed" Elijah spoke up "I can't have you hurt"

"Bull-" she stopped herself and tried to calm down "I'm not having you all fight without me, this is because of me we have to do this!"

"I just can't take that risk" Elijah shrugged, seeing Marcel arrive with his many vampires "one of Marcel's vampires are going to take you to a safe place. Sasha, please do this, for me"

"What?" She shook her head "no, no I can't do this, what if you die, Elijah? I'm not going to say goodbye, I can't do this"

"I'm going to be perfectly safe" he rested his hand on her shoulder as two vampires came up behind her.

"No" she refused when the vampires touched her, she blew them back and onto the floor, her eyes were blood red and she looked angry "I'm fighting with you"

"I knew you'd be like this" Elijah kissed the top of her head "that's why I'm sorry for doing this"

Tara creeped up behind her and wiped her hand on Sasha's face. This caused her to shut her eyes and fall asleep.

"Take her somewhere unknown, please, I'll call for her return when this is all over" Elijah demanded to the vampires as they dragged the girl out of the compound.

"I know it's hard" Tara consoled Elijah, he didn't look upset, but she knew him, she could tell that Elijah was hurting inside. "Don't be so hard on yourself, none of this is your fault"

It was true, none of it was really his fault, Sasha's life was already messed up as it was, Elijah didn't make a difference, apart from making it a bit more bearable.

"I just hope I'm going to get to see her again" he replied "but it's a good way to go, dying, for someone you love, isn't it?"

Tara smiled to him, her hand on his upper arm "it is the best way to go" she told him "but you will see her again, tonight, when this is all over and you are breathing and your heart is beating"

"I hope so"

A few hours passed and Tara had placed herself in the prime position, she had dressed and practiced acting like her descendant. The rest were hiding within the shadows.

Elijah was stood beside his brother, their main focus was on Mikael, who they believed to be the strongest villain out of the whole group. The rest of them the others could handle.

"Daniel" Tara's voice halted the brother's from their quiet chat and they looked through to see the man stood alone, tara stepped back to keep a small distance so he didn't realise that it was not Sasha. "You're late"

"And you're a liar" he said calmly, Elijah could almost feel Tara's heart stop, and he posed in a stance he could just get out and help her. "For you are not alone, do you think I'm stupid? Marcel's vampires are up the stairs and behind those book shelves, Elijah and Niklaus are right over there"

"You lie too" Tara played Sasha so well, it was so convincing "for your alliances are placed just outside of the door, what? To kill me when I am not looking?"

"Bring them in, Daniel, and let's fight this out like the animals we are" Tara said, stepping forwards and motioning for Sasha's people to come out from the corners.

"Fine" Daniel said "let's fight, Tara"
