To kill a monster (Elijah Mikaelson)

Chapter 10

"I'm going to give you two choices." Daniel said as he sat in a darkened room "since you were so stupid to be out on your own"

He stared into the large cage and Amber eyes looked back.

"You can either come with me, willingly, and face a 50% chance of living, or refuse me and die right here right now" he said

The sound of a growl escaped from the cage and the amber eyes moved closer as if to attack him.

Daniel lifted his hand and a whimper escaped from the girl. "I caught you, like a fish in a tank, do you really think  I can let you bust through these bars? you think you're different, you're nothing but a dead wolf that somehow managed to keep on breathing"

"Fine" she growled "I'll go"

Sasha flicked her eyes open. The light of the sun shone in her eyes and made it near impossible to go back to sleep.

"Did you sleep okay?" Elijah asked. How long had he been watching her?

"much better" Sasha smiled, he gazed up at him "it's like you chased all the bad thoughts away"

He'd always wanted to hear that from Tara, she'd never say it of course, but it was her voice in a different body.
And it was close enough, he actually thought Sasha was better.

"Take your time getting ready" he smiled, spinning around and sliding off the bed, grabbing a fresh suit from his closet. "I'll be downstairs"

"Okay" she mouthed, with a smile, she bit her lip and looked down, trying not to show her happiness too much. She didn't want to have this big cheesy smile that gave her a double chin.

She wrapped herself back up in the covers "I'll be down soon"

"I'll see you then" Elijah dressed himself so fast that she couldn't really take a look at his chest... Again.

Elijah walked down the stair at completely the right time to see Daniel push Hayley through the gates. She stumbled before she fell onto her hands and knees.

"Hayley" Elijah exclaimed as he watched her growl at the man behind her. He went to kneel beside her to see if she was okay, dried blood smeared over her head. But Daniel had lifted her up by the scruff of her neck, and propped her on to her feet. Still in his grasp.

"Oh you know her?" Daniel asked with false surprised in his voice "I just picked her off the street"

"Let go of her" Elijah hissed

"Have you heard of the phrase finders keepers Elijah?" He chuckled "unless however you offer a trade, you know what I'd like in return"

"Sasha?" Elijah asked, really thinking out loud. He wanted Sasha in return for Hayley.

"Elijah?" Sasha emerged from the top of the stairs, her eyes widened at the bloody hybrid and Daniel

"Sasha go back" Elijah called up, he could handle this, or so he thought

"No Sasha, stay, I want to see how this turns out" Daniel laughed. Sasha reluctantly walked down the stairs despite Elijah telling her otherwise

"Right, Elijah" Daniel began in his business voice "you can either choose Hayley and give Sasha to me, or you can choose Sasha and watch Hayley die, right now on this spot"

He couldn't let Hayley die. But he also couldn't give Sasha away to the man that had a very unhealthy obsession with her.

But he wouldn't kill her. Sasha told Elijah that before, when she realised he actually needed her, he couldn't afford to kill her.

Which means if Elijah gave chose Hayley now, he would have time to rescue Sasha. But it was just building up the confidence to tell him that he can have her.

"Elijah no" Sasha saw him thinking and understood what needed to be done, she wanted him to keep her safe. To choose her. But it was never that simple, not for her.

Tears welled up as she shook her head. Elijah looked to her with pain in his eyes. "I'm sorry Sasha" he said

"You can have your pet back" Daniel threw Hayley across the room, Elijah sped to her to check if she was okay.

"No" Sasha screamed at the top of her lungs "no please no" she tried to run. Anywhere but here, the dining room doors were shut but she thought she'd be able to get through.

"Help" she yelped as she  realised they were locked. She banged on the door with the palm of her hand, making a loud thud sound "help anyone"

"Come here sweetie" Daniel grabbed her waist and lifted her up kicking and screaming "finally reunited"

"Let me go" she hit him over and over again

"Sleep" he held one hand over her mouth and with a whoosh, she fell limp.

Elijah watched as they disappeared through the gates. A pang of guilt hit him like a truck. He had made a great mistake, but he believed in himself, they could get her back.

Hopefully before it's too late.
