Chapter 16

"He's going to kill her" Elijah finally came to terms with what he had seen earlier on. Sophie looked grim and Marcel was biting his lip with furioso try, Elijah wasn't sure why it wasn't bleeding yet. "He's killing her right now"

"There's nothing we can do" Marcel snapped "we shouldn't have taken her out of that basement"

"Marcel calm down" Rebekah interrupted "I barely know the girl, but she means a lot to the people I care for, Louise, Sophie, is there any thing we can do"

Louise glanced down at her hand. She began to itch it nervously, not knowing what to say, because she knew the only way they can stop this... Well let's just say they wouldn't like it. And she wasn't going to get multiple vampires riled up.

"I can only think of two ways" Sophie interrupted her thoughts "last time we had More ways to do it but it's too late now"

"What are they?" Elijah asked with keen interest

"Well I can try and get inside of her mind, tear her away from the monster that's sat in there" she said "but it's going to be difficult, like trying to get gum out of someone's hair, but without scissors, or fingers, it's like my hands would be potatoes"

"You'll have to consider that they are linked" Louise piped up "she shares his magic for a while so she's going to be deadly; but she could also be weak, she'll have periods of both before she goes; the complication is that if Sophie isn't quick enough, Sasha will kill her"

"And the other?"

"We're going to have to kill her, which leads to Daniel's death, we could end it all if we can all let go" Sophie said, she knew they wouldn't like it. She could tell by Elijah's face. His eyes widened and then he spun around so nobody could see his face, he paced to the wall and lightly hit t before coming back, his skin turned a lighter shade of red.

"No" he refused point blank "we are not doing that"

"So we'll risk Sophie's life instead" Louise nodded

"I apologise... But Sophie has wronged our family in multiple ways, I'd gladly trade her life in return for someone I actually care about" Elijah snapped, speaking so fast that she could barely keep up

"I'd risk my life for her" Sophie replied quietly "but we all have to realise that this might not work and the only resort is to kill her"

"I'll do it my bloody self" Rebekah huffed, earning glares from Marcel and Elijah "to prevent you from doing it of course"

"So, to be clear..." Louise started "we're going to get Sasha here, subdue her enough so Sophie can get into her mind. In case that goes tits up, She absorbs Sophie's Magic until Sophie dies..." She glares at the vampires "I'll cast a spell, hopefully subduing her again, for someone to stab her with this"

Louise rummaged around in her bag for something she had in mind. She pulled out a small dagger which looked nothing special.

"You carry a dark object around with you?" Sophie asked in disbelief "I'm sure that was the dagger we lost ages ago"

"It was" she nodded "one stab and it ensures the victim dies, it's brutal- it makes her bleed from every crevice, but we can't take any chances, we don't know if she can heal"

Elijah took a deep breath in. He couldn't even begin to explain how he was feeling and how much he knew this was his fault.

"We need to get her here without Daniel" Rebekah said "how?"

"Elijah" Sophie said "you need to reach out to her"

Louise walked over and slipped the dagger into his hands. Elijah stepped back and began to shake his head "why me? No I'm not doing that"

"She'll listen to you, you've done something against her so she'd jump at the opportunity to talk " Sophie said "as for the dagger, if all goes wrong, I'll be dead, she'll either kill or knock the others unconscious because she would want to speak to you and only you"

"Plus I'll be the on subduing her so I can't stab her" Louise added "Elijah she'll die anyway"

"I don't want her to die by my hand, I've already lost Tara through my stupidity" he spat

"She's not Tara, Elijah" Rebekah said "isn't that one of the reasons she was mad with you?"

Elijah cursed himself again. "She's not Tara I know" he said "she's smarter, prettier, kinder, and if it wasn't for my stupidity she would still be with me. And I simply cannot pluck up the courage to kill her"

"Why?" Rebekah used this opportunity to get something out of Elijah which she had hardly heard in all of his life "why can't you do this?"

"Because I love her" he shouted. Rebekah smiled, she knew it. "And it's completely cruel for you to force my hand"

"You don't have to do it Elijah" Louise said , feeling sympathetic towards him "please just hang onto it and if all else fails, just hand it to someone else, you're the only definite in this, we know you'll be one of the only ones standing at the end"

"Let's just hope everything goes to plan" Elijah said, lowering his gaze to the floor.

Rebekah walked over to give him a hug and console him, Elijah didn't want to think about anything like that but it was all he could think about.

"Let's just get her over here" he said
