"I'll be back soon, Ash." Mason told his 17 year old daughter as he walked away with his bags a few days ago, but never came back.

But here she was, pulling into the town of Mystic Falls. Her SUV drove 55 miles per hour down the city streets, watching as people kept busy.

Ashlynn wasn't one to usually break the rules, keeping quiet and was an easy pushover, but lately her father's silence bothered her. Mason and Ashlynn were very close seeing as she was his only child. The Lockwoods were inseparable.

The suns shone brightly through her windshield pulling up towards her cousin's house. Ashlynn pulled over and turned her car off, slamming the door and taking off her sunglasses.

It had been awhile since Ashlynn had seen Tyler and his parents due to the fact that she lived down in Florida.

She gazed on the white mansion, taking in the wonder and history it had. Ash grew jealous of what her cousin had verses what she had grown up with.

Finally, Ashlynn begun to walk up towards the big doors. She knocked lightly. The sound of a lock unlocking was heard until Tyler had finally opened the door for his cousin.

"Ashlynn? Is that you? Damn, it's been like-"

"Two years? That's because it has, tragically. So, you gonna invite me in, cousin?" she smirked.

After Tyler had invited her inside, the cousins sat opposite of each other, drinking coffee. "Listen, Ty. I'm really sorry about your father." Ashlynn said sincerely. Tyler looked to the floor and nodded his head, he appreciated his cousin's respect. It hasn't been that long since the mayor had died, but with him gone, Tyler felt as if a major problem was off his shoulders.

"Thank you, Ash. It's really good to see you." Tyler sipped his coffee. "Any reason you just stopped by? I don't understand, why you didn't just come with Mason?" Ashlynn stiffened a bit at his questions.

Mason didn't even know she was here, especially now since Damon literally killed him yesterday. Ashlynn put a finger to her lips, "I've been a naughty little girl, Ty." Tyler laughed at his cousin. He knew she was always so uptight, knowing she broke a rule made him laugh.

"But, Mason didn't want me coming. Since we've last been here, he doesn't think Mystic Falls is very safe for me. Even though nothing happens here at all." Ashlynn sipped her coffee once more before standing up, Tyler mimicking her actions. "Where is dear old poppy? I'm in for a long lecture," She asked, but Tyler shifted feet. From what he was told, Mason had apparently went back to Florida. He didn't know what to tell his cousin. Ash rose a brow and asked again, "Where's my dad?"

"Well...He left earlier today."

"Hm. How fucking unbelievable," Ashlynn rolled her eyes. She was hoping to at least know he was ok. "I just drove all this way and I'm not leaving now. Maybe I can stay the night or two?" Tyler nodded. "Yeah, of course. Let me just let my mom know." Tyler told her, she agreed and let him go find Carol.

Ashlynn was beyond pissed. She spent two days in a car to get to her mute dad, just to find out he had skipped town the minute she arrived. Even though he didn't pick up his phone, she left a voicemail.
