The Singhania Mansion was once again alive with noise and laughter. Everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives.

Everyone except Akshat.

He sat on the edge of the sofa in the living room, his jaw clenched, his patience thinning like a thread about to snap. His eyes flickered toward the chess table, where his wife , his once-serious, always-focused Amrit , was now laughing at something Vikram said, her cheeks glowing, her voice cheerful.

She hadn't even looked at him once in the last fifteen minutes.

He tried to ignore it. He really did. He had come home early, hoping to finally spend some time with her after she'd been staying at Vaibhav's place for a few days. He had missed her , the late-night talks, her sleepy smile, even her endless thesis rants. But the moment she returned, she got swept up in everyone else's company.

And here he was, watching her play chess with Vikram, her focus entirely elsewhere, as if her husband didn't even exist in the same house.

His irritation was practically humming under his skin now. He shifted in his seat, crossed his arms, and muttered something under his breath. His fingers drummed against the armrest , slow at first, then faster.

He was this close to losing it and yelling, "Doesn't anyone here have any actual work?!"

But instead, he stood up abruptly. Without another word, he turned and walked toward their room.

"Amrit!" he called loudly from the room, his voice echoing through the hall. "Tumne mere drafts dekhe hain kya? Last time I saw them, they were with you!"

"Wahin hoga table pe!" she called out, not even glancing up from the chessboard as she made her next move against Vikram.

Akshat gritted his teeth. "Nahi mil raha," he shouted again, half annoyed, half dramatic. "Amrit, I have an urgent work! Please aake dhundo na!"

Her smile faltered, and she sighed, her fingers still resting on the chess piece. "Uff, Akshat..." she muttered, shaking her head.

"Go, go," Preeti said, biting back a grin.

The others laughed quietly, trying to hide their amusement as she stood up reluctantly.

"I'll be back," she said to them, rolling her eyes good-naturedly.

Everyone nodded, some stifling their laughter, while Vihaan gave a teasing salute.

Amrit pushed open the door, her steps quick and impatient.

"Akshat?" she called out, half expecting him to still be searching through drawers.

But what she found instead made her stop.
