The next morning, I wake up to Katie stomping down the hallway. I open my eyes and blink a few times, trying to think of a reason she would still be home, seeing as my mother takes her to band early every day, which she joined for God knows what reason. I yawn and force myself up from under the warm covers, letting my bare feet touch the cold floor. I shiver as I walk into the hallway and Katie shoots past me, a frown on her face.
"Why are you still home?"
"It's seven forty, Lea. Mom forgot to get me up and now I have ten minutes to make it to the stupid bus stop"
"Seven forty?!" I say loudly and turn back to my room
Harry will be here in ten minutes and I just rolled out of bed! I quickly brush my hair and pull half of it up. I get dressed quickly and run to the bathroom, brushing my teeth at a speedy pace before applying some mascara. I run back to my room and grab my backpack and phone. I run down the stairs and look at the clock. It's seven fifty-five. I quickly slip my shoes and jacket on and run out to the driveway, almost completely running in to Harry's car. I let out a little yelp and stand still for a moment, before turning and walking to the door, getting in and slamming it behind me.
"Whoa there killer" He laughs and I smack his arm "Careful with the doors"
"Good morning to you too" I say sarcastically
"You look beautiful" He compliments and I blush as he backs out of the driveway
"Thanks"
"Anytime. Now are we playing twenty questions today, or would you like to listen to the radio?"
"The radio" I smile and look out the dash at the grey sky.
Harry reaches over and presses one of the knobs on the dashboard. The car fills with music and he searches through stations, trying to find something he likes.
"Harry, I know it's your car and I know it's rude, but can you please just pick a station?"
He smirks at me and goes back to the pop station he passed. A Taylor Swift song begins to play and I smile. I quietly hum along and stop when it's over.
"Interesting" He mutters and I raise an eyebrow at him
"What?"
"You just don't look like the type of person that would listen to Taylor Swift"
"And what does someone who listens to her look like?"
"I don't know, like her I guess. Prim, Delicate, Elegant, Girly" He says and I frown "Not to say you aren't any of those things, it's just you don't really... I mean, you..."
"I can be elegant, but you make me act in the most vivacious ways" I smirk "Plus, she has good lyrics. If you actually read them, they have a lot of meaning and passion and emotion"
"Passion and emotion?" He smirks
"Yes" I say as we pull in to an empty parking space "A lyrical genius, if I do say so myself"
Harry and I go to our locker and then walk around and talk until the bell rings and we run to class. During Ancient History, Mrs. Kavanaugh actually talks about something interesting; Ancient Egypt. I copy down the notes, trying my best to listen to her. Delaney and I talk all class about some guy from a university that she met. I have to force myself not to roll my eyes when I hear her talk about how amazing he is, seeing how she finds someone 'amazing' every other week. When class ends, I tell Delaney Ill see her at lunch and then rush to math. We take our usual roll call and when I hand in my homework, Mr. Reek gives me a stern look. Now that I know that Emma and Xavier are dating, Emma won't shut up about him.
