Chapter 34

Kassidy's POV

We've all been waiting in the waiting room of the hospital for hours.

My eyes are all red and puffy and I'm a mess. Shawn hugs me as I bury my head in his chest.

"Taylor Caniff is out of surgery." The doctor says coming up to us.

"How'd it go?" Nash asked.

"It went alright but we still don't know if it'll make it. The bullet hit an awkward spot." The doctor said.

Everyone's face fell.

"Can we see him?" Mallory asked.

The doctor nodded and told us what room he's in.

We all walked into his room. And there he laid. He looked lifeless.

"Hey bud." Carter said stepping forward.

"Hey guys and girls." Taylor croaked out. We could barely hear him.

"How are you doing." Jack J asked.

"I just got shot, JJ." Tay said.

"By flying Mexican food." Kayla said making all of us laugh.

"Can I have a minute alone with Taylor?" I asked.

They nodded and all filed out.

I pulled up a chair beside his bed and held his hand.

"Thank you for taking a bullet for me." I said. Wiping a tear off my cheek.

"Anytime." He said.

"I wish it was me lying here though."

"Don't. I don't regret what I did."

"I can't believe you took a bullet for me tho."

"It's because I love you, I have since I've first laid eyes on you and it pained me so much to see you in love with Shawn. But I love you." He said.

Taylor's POV

I told her I loved her. I can't believe I just did that. But I know I'm dying so why not. Live with no regrets.

All of a sudden I kept seeing a white light in front of my eyes I tried blinking it away but it just kept getting bright and brighter until that's all I could see. I couldn't feel anything anymore. I couldn't even feel the amazing feeling of Kass' hand against mine it was all gone.

Kass' POV

I couldn't see Taylor's chest moving anymore and all I heard was one long beep. Everything went in slow motion then. I looked over and saw one long line on the heart monitor.

Then everything kicked back into a normal pace.

I jumped up. "DOCTOR, SOMEONE HELP." I yelled.

Nurses and doctors came rushing in and a nurse took my arm and pulled me out of the room. When I was out I saw all the guys, Sophie, Mallory and Kayla standing there. They all knew what happened. They knew he was gone.

Shawn pulled me in his arms and I saw Mallory hugged Matt as he cried and she did too. Sophie wiped the tears off his face as they both cried.

"Fuck this." Kayla yelled and punched a wall. Her fist went through it she took her fist out of the wall and it was full of blood.

Nash took her and pulled her in his arms. As she cried. He was trying to be strong but eventually he couldn't take it anymore and he just cried.

What felt like forever the nurses and doctors came out. One nurse shook her head at us and she shed a tear also.

I looked in at his room to see a white sheet covering his face. Everyone followed my gaze to inside his room.

He was actually gone.

And it's all my fault.
