Is it easy to replace a light?
Especially when it's a precious one?

No. It's not. Even if you did try, it can never be the same light.
But how similar can a two lights shine?

He didn't mean to but ended up noticing another one. Another one with so many similarities with the last.

Just like the previous light, he felt seen, not just looked at, unknowing to her.

But just like the last, will this one fall?
Will it grow dim till the darkness consumes it whole?

No. He wouldn't let it.
Finally, finding another reason in his 'pathetic' life, why should it be taken away?

No. Not by anyone. Not his parents nor him. Not anyone.

And he will make sure of it.

That light will never go out.

It will never be taken away.
Not like the last.

History will not ŕëpëãţ itself.

She has somehow lost Axel.

How it happened, she barely remembered as it happened too fast. They were together in the gym, and then he somehow got coerced to play basketball with the team, and as she watched him reluctantly agree, she got pulled away by a group of cheerleaders.

They originally tried to ask her to try out for the team but instead asked about how she's friends with Axel.

She somehow slipped away from the crowd and ended up outside, in front of an iron net in the baseball field. Staring at the boys' practice, she got reminded of what Nicky had said.

But her attention didn't last long as now she was wondering why there was a swing in front of the baseball field.
She sat on one of the swings and tried coming up with different theories about why it's just there.

"Hey,"
She came to a stop when she saw Melvin approach her. He stopped at the side of the swing as he finished zipping up his hoodie.
"What a surprise. We meet again,"

She gave a small smile.
"Yeah... what's up,"

He took a brief pause as if pondering his next words.
"Nothing... no, actually, I've been meaning to talk to you,"

She tilted her head a bit, which made him look away for a second.
"Oh yeah? About what?"

"Hah..." he ran his fingers down his charcoal black hair. "I didn't plan this through..." he muttered to himself.

She held in a chuckle as she saw his awkward stance. He reminded her of one of her friends. She was so awkward at first but later got around it, and now their super close.

Or were super close.
"Hm," she swinged her legs playfully. "Well, you've been in this school for quite some time, right?"

He nodded, unsure.
"Then you can start by telling me why there's a swing here. Is there some sort of reason? Or purpose?"

He let put a shaky breath.
"Now that you've mentioned it, this spot is odd,"

"Right!" She chuckled a bit. "Sit." She invited him as she resumed swinging, but slowly.

A soft wind blew, making Lilley shiver a bit.
She wondered what winter would feel like in this new place. How cold would it be?

"Where... are you from?" He finally said, breaking the silence.
