It's been a few days and I've already made a new friend. His name is Nathan, and he's a pretty cool guy. I mean, he's into video games and baseball as well. Wow, I haven't played baseball in a long time... I should go to the local baseball field sometime. I really like this town, good friends, good school, good places. Dude, this place beats Hotwire Falls in a heartbeat!

Anyway, I was talking to Nathan the other day about Kyra, Keira, and my life in Hotwire Falls. He's an expert on girls... he's had lots of girlfriends, and currently has one. Her name is Cameron.

"So, do you think Kyra and I should be a thing?" I had said as I bit into my turkey sandwich at lunch.

"Sure, if you like her as much as I think you do, but..."

I stopped chewing. "What?"

"Don't you think it's a little hypocritical to break up with Keira then go date her human clone?" Nathan had eyed me.

"She's not her clone, Kyra's way different. Kyra's a bad girl." I said as if it was so obvious.

"Suit yourself," Nathan had said.

Currently, I'm in Mr. Sanchez's History class. Kyra sits in my seat except one row down. I answer a question, then turn to Kyra. I mouth the word 'yes'. Her eyebrows shoot up, then she smirks at me. Score one for Hudson Burke.

After class, Kyra meets me at my locker. She's actually quite a bit taller than me, so when she says,

"Hey."

I have to look up a little bit. Kyra twirls her short hair with one hand and with the other arm leans against the neighboring lockers.

"Hey..."

"So, I heard your answer is yes.  Well, I'm touched.  See ya around Hudson," and there she goes again.  Man, she must really enjoy short conversations.  Wow, okay, I have a girlfriend again.  Um okay... 3, 2, 1, RING!  The final bell lets out and I grab my backpack.  I yank open the school's back door.  I drop my black backpack and run.  Just run.  I bolt into the neighboring fields (flowers and grass) with my arms raised, cheering.
