I unfold yet another box. There it is. My signed baseball. I wipe my eyes and scoop it up. I turn it around and around in my hand, feeling the cool leather. I trace my index finger around the red stitches, and smooth my thumb over the signature. Just like I had that day.
I sniffle and set the memento onto a mini bookshelf. I take out a picture of Wyatt and I on a roller coaster together. And a picture of us building a tower out of Legos when we were seven. And, a picture of... Keira. Sigh. I put the photo back into the box and tape it. I shove it into my tiny closet. I set the photos of Wyatt and I next to my baseball, before leaving the room.
My phone buzzes as I flip through the five channels our TV has: news, weather, nature, Spanish, and... a channel too blurry to make out. I pull my phone out of my pocket.
Wyatt: Dude what is your problem >:(
Me: Huh? What?
Wyatt: What you did to Keira... seriously bro. You suck. You destroyed her. (T_T <Keira)
Me: Why do you care abo... wait
Wyatt: What.
Me: You are her new boyfriend. Of course! Why didn't I think off this before??? I mean, she's mad at me now and then... you. So classic...
Wyatt: What are you tal-
I turn off my phone. Ha! He thinks he can hurt me by getting her!? Ha! I'll show him!
