Chapter 9: Hide and seek

"What do we do we can just stand here." Lily said. "Well we have to try to get the shadow back in the book." Bloom said. "And how are we supposed to do that while we're standing here like rocks." I said. "We have to wait for the shadow to appear." Bloom said. "I don't like this one bit." Richard said. "How long will it take to get here?" Jack asked. "Not that long look!" Whitney yelled. A puff of black smoke had emerged from the book. It was smaller than I had expected. I childish giggle came from the shadow. It began to take shape. " It's turning into something." I said. The shadow walked closer to us. "It's a little girl." Zach said in fear. "What do you want?" Bloom asked the shadow. "Hmmmm....will you play with me?" The shadow had asked. "Oh no, in not playing a game with a damn demon girl." Zach said. "PLAY WITH ME NOW!" The girl shouted. "Okay,Okay." Zach said slamming himself against the wall. "I want to play hide and seek, if I find the one who brought me out of the book, I win, but if I don't find the one on less then five minutes then you win,UNDERSTAND!" She said. We all nodded our heads. The little girl turned around and closed her eyes. "I'll count from 10, ready.....GO!" She added. "Everyone follow me, and put your phones on vibrate." We ran up the stairs of the room. There was a door, we opened it and found numerous objects in another door ."5!" The girl counted. "Everyone hide!" I shouted. We all scrambled, I tried to hide in places but the others were in there. "3!" I started to panic. I ran to somewhere any where. I had tripped on something while doing so. "2!" It was a door in the floor, i opened it and went inside, it was enough to space to sit in. "1!, Ready or not HERE I COME!" The shadow said. I closed the door as quietly as I could. I heard foot steps going up the stairs.  I turned on my phone and started a group chat with everyone.
-Where is everyone?- Kai

"Where are you?" The voice had said.
- Behind a bookshelf.- Whitney.
-Zach and I are in the wardrobe.- Richard
-I'm in the bathroom-Alexis
-I'm in a barrel.- Jack
-I'm in a chest.-Bloom
-I'm screwed then.-Lily
-Why?-Kai
-I'm under a table with a table cloth.-Lily.
"I found you." The shadow had said. The voice was right above me. "Hi Lily!" The girl said. Then suddenly Lily started screaming. I covered my ears, it was too painful and saddening and horrifying to listen. "Who's next!" The girl said. I heard the footsteps go into the other room. "Knock, knock... Oh look two for one!" She yelled. She had got Zach and Rich, they both yelled in agony. She made her way into the next room. Three minutes left to go. I heard a scream from the next room, I assumed it was Alexis. "Where's that ghost girl." The little girl began to run. "I like to read too, you know what I like to read?" She asked "What!" Whitney yelled out of anger. "Ghost stories!" The girl said as she began to giggle. "Why are you doing this?!" Whitney yelled. "So I can bring the savior to the queen of darkness." She said. "Savior?" I whispered to myself. I shrugged it off, poor whitney didn't stand a chance. Let's see all I need is the the ice man and the dog. "EXCUSE ME!" Bloom yelled, she stormed over to her and started to growl. But it was suddenly silenced. It was quiet, I waited. I heard heavy foot steps, running almost. "It's time to you to freeze ice man." The girl said. She started to giggle a long disgusting laugh. "It's time for you to come out now!" She said. I had to surrender, I couldn't do anything else. I stepped out of my hiding spot. All my friends, frozen their faces all different, Lily was mid-scream, Zach and Rich looked like they would never see each other again, Alexis filled with sadness, Whitney with pain, Jack with surrender, and Bloom. Bloom was the one that made me feel the most pain, she was stuck with anger and rage. All my friends, frozen, stuck in time. Here I was, going to give up on them. I couldn't give up on them, although I had known them for only one day, they were the only close friends I had. I am not going to give up, I had to save them. "Let's go, the queen is waiting." The girl said. "There's a portal in the book, we're going through there." She added. I knew what I had to do. "I surrender, I will sacrifice my self to your queen." I said. I followed the girl past my friends, down the stairs, and towards the book. The girl began to open the portal, it grew and grew and grew, it was black and red, I felt the heat radiating from it. "Ready?!?" She said. "Ready!" I said with a smile. I pushed the girl in and hurried to close the book. She fought, to book kept opening and almost closing. "NO YOU NEED TO COME,NOW!" She yelled. "NO....I.....WON'T!" I yelled back. I finally closed the book. I heard thuds come from upstairs. "Kai!" Bloom said. "I'm alright, are you all good." I ran upstairs. Everyone was okay. Bloom ran up to me and hugged me. "Thank God you're okay." She said. "How did you get the shadow to go back into the book?" Everyone asked. "She was a child, she didn't know any better." I said. We all started to laugh. "C'mon lets celebrate that we survived a game of Hide and Seek." I said.
