Chapter 5: Welcome

~ "HE'S HERE!"
~ "Who is he exactly?"
~ "He looks dead."
~ "SHHH I think he's waking up."
~ "Who is his roommate?"
~ "Me of course."
~ "I can't wait till he wakes up!"
~ "Guys, he's waking up; go to your dorms and meet me later in the library I'll take it from here."
~Kai~
I wake up in a shock and take a wheezing breath as if I just popped out of the ocean. "Thank God you're finally awake, now we can relax." A girl with brown wavy hair and bright hazel eyes said. I looked around my surroundings. It appeared that I was in some sort of game room. "Who are you?" I asked. "I'm Bloom, Bloom Darling, and who might you be red stranger." Bloom said. "My name is Kai Crescent, now can you please tell me where am I exactly?" I asked. "You don't know?" She said. "No i really don't" I said. "Well allow me to welcome you to the school for the Freaks of Nature." She said. "Freaks of Nature?" I replied."Precisely, everyone of us has a different supernatural ability and come from different types of supernatural beings." She said. "I must still be asleep, this is all just a silly dream." I said. The girl walked over to me, she wore a blue tribal style shirt with chevron patterned headband to match along with tattered shorts and a crescent moon mark on the back of her right hand. She raised her hand and smacked me across the face. "OW!" I exclaimed. "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR!" I yelled. "To make sure you weren't asleep, what I told you is true." She said. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Do you want to be slapped again?" She said jokingly. "No, no, I believe you." I said. "So what type of freak are you?" She asked. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Your freak type, for example, I am a Howler" she said "Howlers are like werewolves but we actually exist, we have the ability to shift from our human form to our wolf form." She explained. "That sounds pretty cool actually." I said, although I may sound calm now but on the inside I am internally screaming. "How about you Kai?" She asked. "That's the problem, I don't." I said. A knock on the door interrupted our conversation. A man with glasses and brown gelled hair came in. "Good afternoon Miss. Darling." The man said. "Good after noon Headmaster Forevermore." Bloom said. "I see you have met our new arrival." The headmaster said. "Yes I was just asking him what freak type he was but he said he didn't know." Bloom said. "I see, Kai is it?" He said. I nodded my head. "Hmm. Let's see, tell me Kai, why have you worn that scarf every time you go outside?" He said. My heart began to beat faster, how did he know that, no one else knew that except for my father. "I wear it to cover a mark on my neck I've had since birth, I don't know what it is exactly." I explained. "That's your mark take off your scarf so we can see what kind of freak you are." Bloom said. I took of my scarf to reveal my mark it was a spiral with four dots around it. "How peculiar, I haven't seen this mark in a long time, very peculiar indeed." He said. "What does it mean?" I asked. "Congratulations Kai, you are the last surviving Biter." The man said. "What the heck is a Biter?" Bloom and I ask in unison. "One rule to being in this school children, sometimes you have to find the answers for yourself than be given the answer. Now run along to your dorms or meet with the others, Kai I think you are going to like it here." The man said as he left. As if things couldn't get any weirder than they already were. I don't even know what the heck I am, where I am and why I'm here. "I'll show you where your dorm room is and take this," she handed me a folded piece of paper." Don't open it until midnight, okay." She said. "I promise." We walked out of the game room and into the body of the school. The room was like I stepped into the woods there were trees every where and chandlers above with skylights showing the sun setting. "Wow." I said in awe. "I know right, you can look at this later, you need to rest after your bumpy arrival you did hit your head in the pool table after all.
"That seems to be a current theme today, getting hurt and passing out." I said. "Here's your key your dorm is the door in the center, remember don't open the paper till midnight tonight." She said. "Okay." I said as she went through her door. I could already tell this day was going to get a lot more hectic than it already was.
