•Kellin's POV

My eyes slowly blink open before I'm met with the daylight glaring through the blinds. I wipe my eyes and notice Vic is no longer laying next to me.

The moment replays in my head over again of when Vic kissed me last night. The thought made the butterflies in my stomach dance in circles.

I climb out of the bed and leave the room, hoping to find Vic, instead I find a note on the counter.

Had to go take care of some things with Gerard. Meet me at Chili's at 2:00? It's on me :)

- Vic

I smiled as I checked the time on my phone. It was 1:00 already. I slept for that long?

Well I guess when it's next to Vic I could sleep for an eternity.

I might have a crush on him.

I don't bother making myself any breakfast because I want to save my appetite for when we eat together. I return to my room and rummage through my closet trying to pick out what to wear. I feel like a 7th grade girl going on her first date.

I decide that the usual tank top and black skinny jeans are the way to go, so I grab my clothing and enter the bathroom so I can shower.

•Vic's POV

I finally make it to Chili's where the lady at the front gives me my booth and two menus since I mentioned a friend will be joining me.

"Could I start you off with a beverage until your friend gets here honey?" She asks, her teeth poking through her obnoxiously fake smile.

"Yeah, I'll have a sweet tea, thanks." I answer before pulling out my phone and check the time.

2:09

'Where is he?' I say to myself. I send him a quick text.

Vic: You're late >:(

I laugh and press the send button. As soon as I look up I see Kellin walk through the door. He says something to the same lady that sat me down, as his gaze finds mine and he smiles widely.

He walks toward me and sits across from me.

"I'm sorry I'm late, my car decided to run out of gas on the freeway." He says quickly.

"You ran out of gas on the freeway? Why didn't you call me?" I whisper-yelled. He puts his hands up in defense.

"I always carry an extra gas can in my car. It's in the trunk so you probably never seen it." He states. I shrug.

"What're those?" He asks, pointing toward the folded paper I placed on the table.

"Oh, when I was talking to Gerard he went ahead and gave me your plane ticket info. We leave tomorrow."

His eyes widen as his lips part a bit. "Tomorrow?" He emphasizes. I nod.

"Wow... Vic I'm scared." He admits.

My expression softens. "Kellin, I'll never understand why you decided to do this."

"Vic. Listen, just listen please. I told you, my mom is dying, Jenna is living with her boyfriend, you were going to leave anyhow, and what would I be left with? A job at McDonald's and an 850 dollar a month apartment. I used to only have to pay 425 a month when Jenna lived with me, but now she's gone. Do I look like I can afford 850 a month? I couldn't even afford 425 a month without my moms help. I didn't even make 350. Basically, I can't afford living on my own, I definitely don't want to move back in with my mom; not that I can now anyway, and I was going to lose you. Triple whammy." He speaks, tears forming in his eyes before he quickly blinks them away.

"I'm sorry Kellin." I offer quietly.

"I understand why you got upset Vic."

"I just- it just hurt me because we're basically on the same ship but different oceans." I begin.

I continue, "I never told you the full story of how my mom kicked me out, I uh, I was living with my mom and doing my job. You know, just the usual average everyday stuff. She isn't at all wealthy and she's really poor, so I was helping her out of course and also living with her. Two days before I got kicked out we arrived back from Barbados, you know, we had the stuff on us and we got back easy as pie, all normal. So after we bring the stuff back we store it in our warehouse until we can deliver it to the dealers. So I was gone one night, and that night coincidentally a whole stash went missing. Gerard automatically put the blame on me because I was gone and no one could confirm my alibi. He immediately fired me. When I told my mom, she kicked me out. She told me she'd let me come back when I get my job and I can help her out and pay my rent. That's when I met you, and the next day Jack, who's a coworker, he talked Gerard into looking at the security footage. And Gerard found that it wasn't me. He hired me back, now here we are." I finish.

Kellin watched me intensely the whole time. I loved watching him watch me talk. It's like he was so focused on every word I said.

"I'm sorry Vic." He speaks. I nod and shrug.

"Hey, it's okay. Everything is going as planned, right?" I reply, smiling at him.

-

We were both humming along to some really catchy song on the radio. I'm always having a good time when he's around.

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe." Kellin sung. I laughed at his off-key singing and continued driving, singing along with him.

I pulled into the parking lot for his apartment and we made our way into his house.

"Thank you for the lunch Vic." He says as he closes the door.

"Anything for you." I reply.

He girlishly laughs.

"Stop that." I say seriously.

"Stop what?" He retorts, taken aback.

"Being cute."

He laughs before finally speaking.

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but we're both criminals, so kiss me maybe?"

And I did.
