*a year later*
"So, congratulations to our Seniors! You made it. You finally graduated and are ready to go different ways and tackle the world. Today we are gathered to remember your high school years and celebrate the start of adulthood. All our teachers and staff wish you the best of luck for whats to come! May your future be as bright as our hallway lights at 8 am each school day."
The last words of the principal at the whole auditorium laughing and clapping.
I turn to Julia and give her a big hug and then we leave the stage with all our classmates to greet our relatives. Before everyone leaves to continue their celebrations all seniors meet on the football field to take one last photo - we are posing in our gowns and throw our hats in the air, like the movies.
After some more hugs and and handshakes from classmates and teacher, we go separate ways. Julia goes for dinner with her family and I go with mine. I drive to the restaurant with my new car I got from my parents for having the highest score of the finals. Yes, Julia and I got our license a few months ago and I practiced driving a lot with my parents car.
At the restaurant I meet my parents, grandparents, who left school grounds earlier than I did. My my aunts and uncles and my cousin Lisa, Ben and Leo also came out to celebrate.
As soon as everyone hugged my and I finally sit down at the table. Not shortly after my eyes catch sight of Christians, who just entered the restaurant. His eyes find mine and smile grows big - just like mine. He comes over to me first and I get up to give him a big hug. He pulls me in for a kiss and then hugs me again real tight."Congratulations" he whispers and then asks: "will you finally go out on a real date with me? "
I smile and answer "Of course."
I kiss him again and we then sit down next to each other, our hands still connected.
Lisa who haven't been at previous family get-together because she has been studying abroad for two semesters, seems confused at the sight of Christian and I together. Apparently, she missed the whole part of us dating."So you two are together? Isn't he your teacher?" she asks.
"He was and yes we are." I answer.
"When did that happen?"
"One and a half years ago." I answer and look at Christian with a smile. He squeezes my hand lightly.
Suddenly Lisa laughs and says: "Remember two years ago when your dad tried to set me up with him?"Here we go again, let the Lisa-show begin.
"He just introduced you." I simple say.
Everyone else is quiet and luckily the waitress comes to take our order. I'm wondering if my dad would have liked it better if Christian would now be dating Lisa instead of me? But in the past year he made a big effort to get used to us and worked on his behavior towards me and Christian. By now he's finally comfortable with us being a couple.
Everyone seems to have forgotten about Lisa's inappropriate comment and has started a conversation."Do you have plans for tonight? " my aunt asks.
"Gonna celebrate together with some friends and Christian. A new club opened up and some other graduates thought it's a good place to party." I answer with a smile.
After dinner, Christian and I leave to drive to his place because he wants to change before going to the club. So, I say my goodbye to everyone and thank them for coming out.
Back at his apartment, I I see Christian standing in front of his closet without a shirt on. My eyes are glued to his toned back.
"Like what you see ?" He smirks, as he caught me staring at him.
"Yes." I get up to hug him from behind and leave soft kisses on his skin.
"I have to get ready." He whispers."We could stay here instead."
"Don't be silly. The others are waiting." He turns around and gives my lips a quick peck. Then turns to his closet again and pulls out a shirt. Meanwhile, I refresh my make up in the bathroom. When I leave the bathroom he is already ready waiting in the hallway.
"I have something for you." He says to me.
