Christians' POV:
Ring. Riing. Ugh. It's Monday. School. The only thing I look forward to is seeing Lynn again. That's how crazy I am about her: having her in a class today, is my first thought in the morning! I know I just saw her yesterday at her house but this was kind of awkward. Helping her studying and all the kissing in her room was great but dinner with her parents.. When I'm with Lynn I feel younger and nearly her age. Or at least like our age doesn't matter. But talking with her parents makes me feel old. I mean I'm 29 so between both of them. It just feels strange, like we're sneaking around in her room and at school, while all I want to do is showing everyone how great she is and how much I like her. But for so many obvious reasons this I not possible at this moment. I know that it is hard for Lynn too. And lying at her parents doesn't makes this easier. Even for me. I just got closer with them, especially with her Dad. But I'm also the one falling for their daughter, my student - and started a relationship with her. I know that it's wrong and illegal, but she's great and I fell hard for her. I couldn't deny my feelings for her any longer, at least not in front of her. It was already hard enough and it only hurt her (and me), so this seemed like the only solution for us.
When I enter the school building I see her standing at her locker with some of her friends. When I walk pass them I say my good morning and Lynn answers with a smile while the others just greet me back. Lynn's' smile is awesome. I live for it!
Its lunchtime, When I enter the room I automatically scan it for Lynn. She's sitting at a table. with Julia and some other people. She seems to laugh at something that Matt said. She looks happy. Matt sits next to her. To be honest, a bit too close for my liking.
I try to shake this thought out of my mind as I sit down at the teachers table and start eating my lunch. This is when Ms Jones suddenly sits down across from me.
"Hey Christian. Everything's fine?"
"Hi. Yeah and how about you?"
"Good, thanks. So.. what are you up to today? " she asks.
"Nothing planed yet."
"Would you like to go out with me?" Huh? I wasn't expecting that.
"Sorry, but I have a girlfriend."
"Oh I didn't know. Forget I was asking."
I don't know what to say. She is pretty and kind but she is not Lynn. I feel a bit sorry for rejecting her.
We continue our lunch with some small talk and then head for our next lesson.
Last class for the day. I finally have Lynn's English course. Students start filling the room and I see Lynn entering with Matt. Does he ever leave her side? She sits down at her desk. Gladly, Matt sits a few banks behind her.
I start my lesson and sometimes I exchange small smiles with Lynn but I try to be professional. The consequences of getting caught are way too high for the both of us. I don't want her to get expelled and neither do I want to lose my job. Having that relationship is obviously risky, but I really hope that we can make through this year without anyone finding out.
However, lesson's over now and everyone leaves as fast as they can. Lynn says "Goodbye Mr Richards" as she passes me with a smile. I smile back at her and whisper a bye.
I call Lynn when I arrive home.
"Hey. What are you doing today? " I ask.
"I'm going to meet the guys in a few. I have to hurry. Why?"
"Oh. I wondered if we could hang our."
"I'm sorry, but I already have plans. Maybe tomorrow?
"Don't be sorry. Is Matt there too?" I ask the second part after a short break of silcence.
"Yes, he will be. Why?"
"Ahm, just curious. "
"He's just friend." she assures me.
"For you, but everyone can see that he likes you for more than that."
"But I have a boyfriend."
"But he doesn't know that."
"He does. I told him that I'm with someone."
"But.."she cuts me off.
"No buts. You have to trust me on this. I gotta go. Bye." She hangs up on me.
Wow.
I sit there for a while and then call Ana Jones number. I can't even tell you why my first reaction after Lynn hanging up on me is calling Ana.
"Hello?" She answers.
"Hey, Christian here. Are you still interested in doing something today?"
"Sure, but don't you have a girlfriend?"
"Yes, but I am allowed to have dinner with a friend. So should I pick you up at 7?" This is not a date, it should just be a distraction. If Lynn is having fun with friends, then I should do that too. Staying home alone all night does not seem like a good alternative. I don't know why I didn't ask any of my "male" friends, but somehow Ana was the first one on my mind. Probably because she asked me earlier today, so I knew that she didn't have any plans. And maybe also because I want to make Lynn a little bit jealous. If she can hang out with someone that has a crush on her, then so can I. I realize that this behavior is childish and immature, but no one ever said that impulsive decisions are always good decisions.
"Okay. I'll text you my address."
"Great. See you then."
"Bye."
I hang up and a minute later I get a message with her address.
I prepare my classes for tomorrow and get ready.
I pick her up on time. Ana looks great. She wears a dark blue dress which goes to her mid thigh. Her brown hair is straight, like always, and she wears a bit more eye make up than for school.
"Wow. You look great. I just planned on going to Pizza Hut."
"Oh I can change quickly. " The smile on her face drops.
"No no, its great. Let's go."
"Alright. " she smiles again.
We enter Pizza Hut and sit down at a table. We order our drinks and food.
"I didn't knew you had a girlfriend, I'm sorry if I made things weird this morning." she says.
"You didn't, I just a asked her out a few weeks ago, you couldn't know."
"Oh, good. I thought I made a fool of myself." I smile at her.
"So, do you have a boyfriend? " I ask and could face palm myself when I hear myself asking that stupid question.
"No." She says. This question was needless. Why would she ask me on a date if she had a boyfriend!? "Sorry, that was a dumb question." We laugh at my awkwardness.
We talk a bit and then start eating when I suddenly see some familiar faces sitting down a few tables away from us.
