The two began to draw in comfortable silence neither addressing their many thoughts just enjoying each other's company.
Damian had begun to draw Marinette unintentionally using the opportunity to glance at her occasionally to see if her mood had either worsened or improved since their impromptu confession.
She had remained quiet, drawing what he could only presume was an article of clothing, her attention going to the windows taking in the view before she began to draw once again. Her movements flowed as though her mind was at ease in the familiarity of fashion.
A stark contrast to the previous worry and tension she had felt, she had eased into the side of the couch, curled up with a throw blanket, looking relaxed and calm. Which eased Damian's previous concerns.
"What do you think of Gotham so far?" Damian finally asked, breaking the comfortable silence, Marinette peered up at him, simply watching him before she spoke.
"It's different..more gloomy, and dark like a polar opposite to Paris." She paused eyes taking in the gardens once again
"The silence feels comforting, and being away from the city is nice" her words coming out as a whisper almost as if she too couldn't believe how she felt.
The quiet was unusual to Marinette living in Paris above a bakery and next to a school she was constantly surrounded by noise, at all hours of the day whether it was cars driving by or birds chirping on the balcony. The quiet eased her worries allowing her to enjoy the moment.
The two worked for a few hours, until Damian was nearly done with his sketch hoping she was unaware of what his chosen muse was. Marinette herself had gone through a few pages taking inspiration from her surroundings and the architecture for new designs.
Once the sun had begun to set, Marinette could feel a little blob press against her knee, a reminder that Tikki was close by, she had barely noticed the time fly.
"Would you like to do this again?" Damian spoke, eyes turned to the windows watching as the sky changed from blue to shades of red, orange and purple as though it was a canvas.
"I would" Marinette spoke, beginning to grab her coloured pencils that were scattered beside her, Damian doing the same with his own materials.
Once they had packed up Damian led Marinette down the many hallways of Wayne Manor until they reached her door where he hesitated on what to ask.
Before he could overthink more he asked the question, anticipation creating a storm of butterflies in his stomach, an expression he never truly understood till now.
"Would you want to venture to the city tomorrow?" he asked, reaching the end of their walk.
Marinette paused before nodding, "yes that would be wonderful, when would you like to go?" she asked
"After breakfast, there are some festivals currently occurring, and we can get lunch at a nearby cafe" he stated, his shoulders tensed in anticipation.
"That sounds lovely, I can't wait" she smiled, leading to a warm emotion in his chest
"Good, I'll see you later" he nodded goodbye as he turned to leave
"Damian, is this.. a date?" she asked cautiously to his retreating figure.
He turned immediately, feeling his heart beat faster and ears burn at her question.
"Would you like it to be?" he asked nervously only to receive a shy nod
"Then yes" his response made her smile, eyes shining brightly at his answer.
"You saw that right?" Tim asked head peaking from behind a corner
"Yeah, demonspawn has a... date"
"Are we sure it's a date? It could be an integration tactic.."
"That's the best you could come up with timbers"
"He considers Jon an acquaintance, and he has no other friends what are we supposed to think"
"yeah but lets get back to the fact she said yes"
"Whats going on?"
"Baby bat's got a date"
"WHAT!! Since when!"
"Shush dickhead, are you trying to get us caught?!"
"Explain when did little D get a girlfriend"
"Technically we don't know if he even has a girlfriend"
"Yeah but we saw him ask Marinette out"
"WHAT! Why didn't one of you tell me?"
"We just did" the two deadpanned
