Nobel Peace Prize

"I still can't believe it worked. It's fucking crazy," said Eli, shaking his head. "We're really in the same dojo again."

Sky couldn't help but smile. She was sitting on her bed cross-legged, in her pajamas, a half-empty tub of Bed and Jerry's between her and Eli. It must have been closer to two in the morning by now. Even Dad had crawled to bed a half an hour ago, utterly drained and more than a bit drunk after his ordeal with the senseis, but Sky was still humming with restless energy, unable to even think about sleeping.

Before retreating into his bedroom, Dad had very pointedly told them he expected them to sleep in separate rooms if Eli was going to stay for the night, and Sky had every intention of honoring that wish. She just couldn't tell Eli to go. Not yet. Too much had happened, and she needed his presence to unwind, to calm down, to believe this wasn't just another dream, but reality.

"I know," Sky grinned, her smile wide and unapologetic. "My Dad is a miracle worker."

"Yeah. I mean, I knew he could make stuff happen, but to get the senseis in the same boat? I honestly didn't think it was even possible."

"I never doubted Dad," Sky said, even if it wasn't 100% true. She'd had her doubts, but now they were barely a memory, already fading behind the light of this shining, new world. "He's always had a way with people. Like— he's saved my ass so many times - Kat and I used to get in trouble a lot, and he always managed to talk us out of it. In some other lifetime, he's out there negotiating peace, solving conflicts, and winning Nobel Peace Prizes, you know?"

Eli laughed and flashed her the crooked, one-sided grin that always made Sky's heart skip a beat. "He totally deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for this!"

"Maybe we should nominate him?" Sky suggested. "We could use the million dollars."

"We could spend that money making our dojo the most badass dojo in the Valley."

"Why stop there? Let's make it the most badass dojo in the whole world," Sky laughed, giddy with happiness and this silly conversation. She couldn't even remember the last time she'd felt like this, this happy, this light, the last time she'd joked like this, with anyone.

Or the last time she'd had Eli sitting on her bed like this, comfy and relaxed, drinking from the same cup of happiness that made her head light as if she was drunk.

"You after world domination now?" Eli smirked. "Isn't winning the All Valley enough for you?"

Sky shrugged, the smile still lingering on her lips. "Honestly? It would be nice if we won at the All Valley, but it's not like it's the most important thing in the world to me. I just... I want all the drama to stop. I want all of us together, and I want Cobra Kai out of my sight and out of my mind. And then I want Kyler in jail. I don't care about the rest."

"Yeah, well—" Eli said, his face growing serious. He leaned his bony elbows on his knees, propping his chin on his hands. "Now that the dojos joined, we actually have a pretty good chance of winning in the tournament and putting Cobra Kai out of business for good."

"You really think they're going to honor that deal, though? That they're just gonna stop if they lose? Cause to be honest, I don't see that happening. Kreese is many things, but he isn't a quitter... and I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of Terry Silver's mouth."

"Hey, let's cross that bridge when we get to it, okay?" Eli said softly, even if his eyes were worried and dark. "It's out of our hands anyway. We can only do our best in the tournament and trust it'll be enough."

He was right, of course. Sky knew she had done what she could - bringing the senseis in the same room, and letting Dad work his magic on them. With the help of some whisky and a lot of time, Dad had managed to make those two old, stubborn idiots see reason, and in the end, they had managed to form a fragile truce. The dojos would enter the All Valley as one. They would be called Miyagi Do - Eagle Fang (a monstrosity of a name, but neither one of the senseis had agreed to give up the name of their dojo for good), they would wear the white gis with the Miyagi Do logo in the back, and a smaller Eagle Fang logo in the front. They would train at the Miyagi Do dojo, for obvious reasons, but if they won at the All Valley and could actually continue training in the summer, Johnny would take them on excursions to train in more unconventional locations. Mr. LaRusso would teach them Miyagi Do, focusing on defence, and Johnny would teach Eagle Fang karate, focusing on offence. They would mostly take turns training the students, instead of trying to do it together. And when interaction between the two senseis was necessary, Dad would step in and act as a negotiator. He had promised to be present in all the training sessions, if needed.
