Chapter 3

Harry finally got off the Knight Bus feeling a bit queasy and relieved. He definitely didn't want to have to ride that thing ever again. As soon as he got to the door, Hedwig and the Minister were waiting for him. "Ah Mr. Potter, you've finally arrived." He said pleasantly. "What a smart bird you got there. She arrived five minutes ago just before yourself." He led him to a private room in the back. Hedwig landed on his shoulder and affectionately nipped at his ear. Harry couldn't help but smile and stroke the top of her head. He really loved her. She had gone through the things Harry had to as much as Ron and Hermione had and more. She was the second real friend he had upon entering the Wizarding world. "Now, then," The Minister started, bringing Harry out of his thoughts. "At some point tonight, the Ministry received some news about you unintentionally blowing up your aunt. Aurors arrived on scene and removed the spell and obliviated her mind and the minds of your aunt, uncle, and cousin. So that's that and nothing to worry about, Mr. Potter."

"Hold on, I used magic." Harry asked completely confused. "I got a warning in my second year about what was it? A Hover charm? I don't even know how to use a Hover charm, by the way..." The Minister briefly blushed at this. "So why aren't you expelling me, if I already had a warning?" Harry wasn't sure he trusted this man too much.

"Harry, Harry, it was all just a big misunderstanding. So no need to worry about it."

"Aren't you curious to know who used the Hover charm, Minister?"

"Ah, yes, that would be appreciated..." The Minister now looked regretful.

"It was a House Elf by the name of Dobby, sir. I thought you ought to know..."

"Yes, and I appreciate that. I will have the Hover charm incident removed from your record as you were falsely accused; my apologies." As was Sirius... Harry thought but he didn't say anything.

"It's a mistake anyone could make, right?" Harry didn't forgive this man at all but he was going to make it seem like there wasn't any turmoil between the two for now. He wanted to learn more about his man's character before he came to a conclusion. "Is there anything else, sir?"

"No, just that it would do you good to not... wander..." He sounded distracted.

"Why's that?"

"We have a killer on the loose, of course." Harry nearly scowled at this. His Godfather was innocent and he had a feeling that the Minister didn't know that Harry knew that Sirius was Godfather.

"You mean, Sirius Black, sir?"

"Oh, yes, it's horrible. Right, I bet you're tired. Why don't you have Tom show you to your room?" Harry took this as being dismissed and left the room, dragging his trunk with him. Tom showed him to his room and he sat his trunk and Hedwig's cage down. He opened the door to it and opened the window so Hedwig could come and go as she pleased. Now that Harry had thought about it, he was exhausted. He wished he could talk to Sirius more though. He wanted to know more about his parents when they were younger and figure out why Snape hated him so much. Harry kicked off his shoes and sat his glasses on the nightstand before he fell asleep. When he woke the next morning, the sun was shining in his eyes and the train that ran through here, shook everything in the room, causing Harry to wake up a little bit more. He put his glasses on and actually looked at the room he was in. He was on a simple four poster bed, the floor was wooded and there was a body long mirror and a small dresser and a red hearth rug lying on the floor. It was small and simple but Harry didn't mind it. He got up and searched through his trunk for cleaner clothes and decided that he'd go out and explore Diagon Alley and maybe even finish up his holiday work at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Shoppe. Harry really didn't feel like getting a detention with Snape. It was probably the fact that Harry hated Snape the most that he kept out of Snape's radar.
