Chapter 17
It was the end of the last class of the day that it happened. Harry was just walking back to Gryffindor tower to drop off his stuff and finally read Sirius' letter when Ron and Hermione cornered him. "So you snitched on us, huh?" Ron sneered. Harry sighed.
"I didn't tell McGonagall anything. It was Fred and George and I don't want to do this anymore than you do." Harry wasn't in the mood to deal with them. He was a bit irritated with the interruptions; he just wanted to read his letter! Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Whatever Harry, you always blame someone else. It's never you're fault, it's always someone else!" Harry scoffed.
"You can believe whatever you want, I don't care. I'll be going now."
"Not so fast, Potter." Harry heard before he was punched in the stomach and the wind was knocked out of him.
"What do you want from me, Weasley?" Harry asked glaring at him as he nursed his sore stomach. Ron just smirked. Hermione nodded when Ron looked at her and walked away. The next thing Harry knew, he was being dragged into an empty classroom by his hair. Harry didn't know what was going to happen but he knew it wasn't going to be anything good. Ron however couldn't do anything because Harry heard, "Weasley! What do you think you're doing!?" It had been McGonagall surprisingly. Ron cursed as he dropped Harry to the ground. Harry winced as he massaged his sore head. McGonagall was in the classroom in a flash. Ron just glared at her.
"Tell me, Weasley. Do you get a kick out of hurting your classmates?"
"No, just Potter." He said smiling sweetly at her. Harry had never seen McGonagall look so pale and angry.
"Weasley, come with me to my office. Potter, go to your room, please." Harry did as he was told as he watched McGonagall march Ron off to her office. Harry was a bit shaken when Ron said that he got a kick out of hurting Harry.
"Harry what's wrong?" Fred asked as soon as he entered their room.
"I think Ron was going to try something because McGonagall talked to him and Hermione about wanting us to 'work it out' but McGonagall got there before he could do anything."
"Still, what's bothering you?" George asked.
"Well, McGonagall asked him if he got a kick out of hurting his classmates and he said, no just Potter..." The twins scowled. "He's in McGonagall's office now."
"We're sorry we didn't stick with you. He wouldn't have done that if we were with you." The two said sadly. Harry smiled.
"It's alright guys. I think McGonagall's keeping a closer eye on the three of us now that she's talked to us. Besides, he caught me off guard and I haven't been using my magic, so if he does try anything again, I can take him out."
"We know that, Harry. We just want to be there for you but every time you're in some kind of danger we're never there." George said frustrated. Harry chuckled.
"I know but I only seem to get into trouble when I'm trying to figure something out."
"Okay, then let's go catch Black then!" Harry scowled at them.
"You want to willingly put yourself in danger?" Harry knew Sirius wouldn't hurt them but Pettigrew on the other hand...
"It's no different than you is it?" Harry rolled his eyes.
"I guess not... I know I don't have to be the one to do it but it seems like I'm the only one willing to do it."
"We know what you mean Harry, but we're willing to help you." Harry smiled.
