Chapter 4
On the night before 1st of September Harry was excited. He'd already had his things packed and didn't have anything to do. So when he heard arguing in the room next door to him, he went to go see and found Ron and Percy glaring at each other. "What's wrong?" Harry asked curiously. He was going to play nice until Ron decides to take his jealousy out on him again. Harry was going to be ready next time if it ever happens. He wasn't going to just take it like last time.
"Percy has lost his Prefect's badge and thinks I took it and now that I think about it, my rat tonic is missing too. I think I might have left it at the bar..."
"You're not going anywhere until you find it!" Percy said glaring at his youngest brother.
"I'll get it, I'm all packed." Harry said quickly before Ron could say anything. Then as quick as Harry had entered the room, he had left, not wanting to be in the middle of the two arguing. Only Harry left one argument to find himself in another. Only the two arguing didn't know he was there. He was standing on the stairs and he heard the voices of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.
"Why shouldn't we tell him Molly? Harry has the right to know!" Mr. Weasley said sounding a bit frustrated.
"Arthur, he's just a boy; let him be! He doesn't need to know that! He's only thirteen!" Harry scowled at this. And this is another reason why he doesn't trust adults. They can't seem to see that he's already been through more than most adults have, so he does deserve to know things. Well, Harry thought when calmed down. They're going to get a huge shock when they find out he already knows. He tuned out the rest of their argument and quickly got Ron's rat tonic and went back upstairs. On the way, he saw Fred and George snickering.
At the sight of his curious expression, they said, "We have Percy's Prefect badge." They said grinning. "We've been modifying it. See?" Harry looked at it and noticed that it now said Bighead Boy. Harry snickered.
"Good job, guys." He said grinning. He was glad for the twins. They always knew how to cheer him up.
"Thanks! You mind doing us a favor and returning it to Percy? He'll know if we gave it back to him." George asked grinning.
"Sure, no problem." Harry said shrugging.
"Great, thanks Harry!" Fred and George said beaming at him as he took the badge. Harry watched them go back to their room before he went back to Ron's and Percy's room.
"Hey Percy, I found your badge. It was lying on the hallway floor near the stairs. It must've fallen off." Harry said giving it to Percy.
"Oh, thank you, Harry." Percy said smiling at him. Harry for the first time in the few seconds he was in the room, noticed that everything was messed up and clothes were strewn across the floor. Ron was grumbling to himself as he packed his trunk.
"Here you go, Ron."
"Thanks..."
"Do you want any help?" Ron shook his head.
"No, it's alright, I've got it." Ron said hastily. Harry frowned but nodded.
"Okay, see you in the morning, I suppose."
"Yeah, see you." Harry walked back into his room with a feeling that Ron was hiding something from him. Harry of course wasn't going to say anything about it until he knew for sure if it was true. Tom woke Harry up the morning of the 1st and as soon as he sat foot out of his room, Percy was stomping around and glaring at Ron. What had Ron done now? It was getting annoying. "I accidentally spilt tea on his picture of his girlfriend and now she's hiding out of her frame because her nose has gotten all blotchy." Ron said rolling his eyes. The two made their way down to the bar for breakfast. Harry considered telling Ron about what he heard Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were talking about last night, but he chose not to as he was still suspicious of what Ron was hiding. He knew if he just told Hermione, Ron would just see this as him going after Hermione and Harry knew that Ron had some feelings for Hermione, whether he noticed it or not. Hermione as far Harry knew was blind to it too. He would go to the twins about it but they didn't seem to care. Well, Harry thought. There wasn't any point in telling anyone anyways. The hectic morning to get to Kings Cross continued and didn't end until they were actually at Kings Cross. Harry, with the help of George, put his trunk and Hedwig's cage into the compartment on the sides of the train and soon the trio was sitting in a compartment with Sirius's friend and their new DATDA professor, Remus Lupin as the other compartments were full. Of course Ron and Hermione didn't know about this and at this very moment, Remus Lupin didn't know that Harry really knew him... or at least he'd think Harry had forgotten him as he didn't remember anything about his parents or his parents' friends. If Remus knew that Harry knew who he was, he'd most likely be surprised and possibly suspicious. Harry shook his head mentally. You're over thinking this. He told himself.
