Chapter 16
Harry was eager to read the letter that he received from Sirius this morning but he knew Snape would've taken points away faster than he could say unfair if he did that. So Harry waited patiently until the end of class to read it but before Harry had the chance, Snape walked up to him. "Lupin asked me to give this to you as you won't be having him in class today." Harry nodded, taking the folded up paper.
"Thank you, sir." Snape nodded before walking back to his desk. Harry walked out of the room and read the note.
Harry,
As tomorrow is Saturday, meet me in my office at noon tomorrow. That should work around your Quidditch schedule.
Remus
Harry smiled. He couldn't wait to get started on the Chamber of Secrets. "Hey Harry, what's that?" Draco asked curiously as he walked up to him.
"Oh this is a note from Lupin. He wants to start on the Chamber of Secrets tomorrow at noon." Harry whispered. Nobody can find out about this.
"That's great, can I come?" Harry shrugged.
"It's up to Lupin really."
"Oh..."
"What?"
"He makes me nervous sometimes."
"Why?" Harry couldn't see how Lupin could make him nervous.
"It seems like he's been scrutinizing me. I mean I can understand with who my father is, but it still makes me nervous." Harry nodded.
"I'll talk to him about it." Draco smiled.
"Thanks Harry."
"Anytime!" Harry said grinning as they walked into Transfigurations. McGonagall seemed to be giving them a look as they walked in. Harry rolled his eyes when she wasn't looking. Maybe she thinks I'm going to the dark side... Harry snorted at the thought. That or she wants to know what's going on with Ron and Hermione. If she wanted to know, all she had to do was ask. She already knows what Ron did to me, so it's obvious why Harry isn't talking to the two at all.
"Harry, Harry!"
"What?" Harry asked wide-eyed.
"You zoned out." Draco said worriedly.
"Oh, I'm fine. Just thinking." Draco sighed.
"I'm beginning to think that's starting to become dangerous for you." Harry stuck his tongue out at the Slytherin before they took their seats and Draco returned the feeling. Harry guessed Draco didn't care about his Slytherin image anymore. Everyone was staring at them again, only this time they had a look of disbelief. Harry rolled his eyes. They should take a picture, it would last much longer. Harry fought to urge to stick his tongue out at them all. Besides, shouldn't they be paying attention to McGonagall's lecture instead of them? Slytherin pride however didn't stop Draco from sneering at them all and whispering, "What are you looking at?" Harry grinned as they all quickly turned away.
"Nice one." He whispered as he began taking notes.
"Thanks. It's what I do best." Draco said grinning back. Harry was itching to read Sirius' letter but didn't find a chance in McGonagall's. McGonagall would've given him a detention faster than Snape would if he read his letter in class. He'd have to wait until lunch to read his letter he supposed. How did Sirius react to his last letter? Harry felt silly for putting his worries in his letter but he supposed that that's what his Godfather was there for. He didn't want to lose his Godfather because of a rat. He didn't want to go back to the Dursleys and he definitely didn't want anything to do with Dumbledore for right now. Not until Dumbledore shows any sign of truly caring about Harry. Harry was beginning to wonder just how much Dumbledore knew of his situation at the moment. Obviously he knows about Ron because of McGonagall; for sure. She wouldn't just keep it to herself. Does he even know what goes on at Dursleys? And if he does, does he really even care? Harry knows he keeps asking himself the same questions but those are some of the most important things he needs to know. He hated going in circles like that, but he supposed the only way to find out was to ask the headmaster.
