Chapter 12
Harry was worried about what Snape was going to tell Remus. He was so worried he wasn't even aware of what Burbage was talking about and he still got good marks on his paper. He had forgotten to mention that Burbage grades the papers just before the end of class. "Everyone, if I could just have your attention for a moment." Burbage said standing up from her chair. "Professor Dumbledore has given me permission to take you all on a school trip to a muggle village. I will have the details ready for you next class." Harry thought it would be fun to do that. It'd give Harry time away from Ron for who knows how long and Harry wouldn't have to worry about Snape and Remus for a little while. Everyone around him buzzed in excitement.
"Professor, what village will we be visiting?" A girl from Ravenclaw asked excitedly. Burbage chuckled.
"I suppose I can tell you that. We're going to Godric's Hollow." Harry's breath hitched. They were going to visit the village where his parents died. Everyone but him was more excited. Harry didn't know what to think of this. He'd get to see his parents and his house if it's still there. Who knows? Maybe he'll learn a few things about his parents and that night. Harry would have to tell Sirius. It has been awhile since Harry last wrote to Sirius. He'd have to inform Remus and Snape about going too. Harry wasn't sure how that was going to go or how Remus was going to react to the news about Harry's uncle. Harry didn't want to think about it but it wouldn't stop coming. Harry was nearly half way to Potions when he ran into Draco.
"What's wrong, Harry? You look worried."
"Snape agreed to do it."
"Then why do you look so worried?" Draco looked very confused.
"Because he found something out that I'm not ready to talk about and he's going to tell Lupin."
"Is it what we're going to talk about later?" Harry shook his head.
"No, that's something else."
"Oh... but..."
"I will eventually tell you, Draco... I'm just not ready yet." Harry said feeling exhausted. There was really no reason for it but he did feel tired.
"Well, whatever it is, it must be really bad, if you're this worried about it." Harry nodded.
"It's worse..." Draco frowned.
"Do the twins know?"
"No, no one but Snape and now Lupin knows. I didn't plan on anyone finding out and I definitely did not plan on telling anyone." The two walked in silence before Draco spoke again.
"So why are you all of the sudden really good in Potions?" Draco asked curiously.
"It's because I held back."
"Why?"
"It was probably because I was afraid Ron and Hermione didn't want to be my friends anymore if I did better than the two. Before Hogwarts, I didn't have any friends and those two were some of the first friends I'd made." Harry shrugged at the shocked look on Draco's face. "Before Hagrid brought me my letter, I had no idea I was a wizard, nor who my parents were, or how they even died."
"You're aunt and uncle didn't tell you anything?"
"Nope. They thought if they didn't tell me that I wouldn't be a wizard I guess, but it didn't work." Draco looked worried.
"Harry, they didn't... hit you, did they?" He whispered. "What you're describing now sounds like they were trying to stomp your magic out."
"What does that mean?" Harry asked confused.
