Chapter 10
"Does Snape know about you talking to your housemates about it?" Harry asked curiously. Surely Snape would've guessed by now if Draco had been talking to a few Slytherins like he said he did.
"As far as I know he doesn't, but I'm sure he suspects something." Draco said shrugging. Harry snickered.
"He'll know it has something to do with me." Draco grinned.
"Too true. He's always blaming you for stuff."
"I know." Harry said a bit sadly. "He's usually right about half of the things he blames me for." Draco looked shocked. Harry grinned. "Trust me, if I told you everything that he's blamed me for and was right, it'd be a very long list and we'd be here all day." Draco rolled his eyes.
"Sometimes I wonder about you Harry." He said shaking his head.
"Ah, I'm glad you two have joined us." Remus' voice greeted them as they entered the room.
"Sorry for being late, Professor." Harry said looking sheepish. He had not meant to be late. Remus chuckled.
"It's alright. Now if you two will sit down, we can get started on our lesson." Harry and Draco quickly took their seats and ended up sitting next to each other. Harry could feel everyone staring at them.
"This is awkward..." Draco whispered. Harry snickered.
"Well get used to it, they'll be doing this for awhile. Besides, I thought you'd like all the attention." Draco rolled his eyes.
"Yeah but not this kind of attention." Harry shrugged.
"Well I get this attention all the time. Not so great being me, now is it?" Draco sighed.
"Alright, Harry, you win. Being Harry bloody Potter isn't all it's cracked up to be." Harry grinned and for the rest of the class, they took notes over Red Caps. Harry was anxious to ask Remus about the defense group. He couldn't stop thinking of all the possibilities that could come from it. Harry didn't want to get his hopes up but he couldn't help it now after Draco said he'd talked to some other Slytherin students who agreed to try it out. Harry knew at once that Remus would agree to do it but Snape would take some convincing... okay a lot of convincing. Harry knew there was going to be a lot of complications with this whole plan, but he had a few ideas as to where it would take place and such. He'd thought about the RoR, but even Voldemort would eventually figure out how to get in, so Harry crossed that off his list of possibilities. They could always do it in a classroom; possibly in the dungeons or maybe they could use the Chamber? Of course, the place really needed to be cleaned out and the rocks that fell when it caved in needed to be cleared, plus Harry was the only one who could get in at this point. So they'd have to make is password oriented and the same thing with the inner chamber and that would need to be furnished and made fit for a defense group.
That was a lot of things that needed to be done. Of course, Harry would have to see what Remus and Snape thought on the matter of a place to practice. As for security, Harry thought the Chamber had plenty but they could put up all kinds of spells and charms to keep enemies out. Harry was shocked that no one had asked him to tell them what the chamber was like; although he supposed Dumbledore may have had something to do with that and the fact that everyone was worried about Ginny and the victims who were petrified by the Basilisk. Of course, Harry never saw the inner chambers of the Chamber of Secrets, but he was sure it had to look spectacular, minus the grime and sludge... and bones... and the basilisk skin.... and... Well anyways, Harry couldn't think of anything else for the time being. Harry just had to prepare himself for Snape yelling at him and calling him an idiot for thinking of such things. Harry really hoped that Snape wouldn't go back to that. Harry didn't know if he could take it anymore. Harry knew that if Snape had carried on with what he was doing before, that he would have broken down by now. Harry wouldn't have been able to do this anymore. Harry didn't really have any reason why he should be the one to stop Voldemort. Sure there were the lives of the Wizarding and Non-Wizarding community but that didn't have to fall on Harry's shoulders. And sure, Voldemort is trying to kill him, but why does it have to be Harry to stop him? Why not Dumbledore? He's powerful enough and it's known that Dumbledore is the only one Voldemort has ever feared, right? So why Harry? Why did he have to be in the middle of all this mess?
