This is a fan-made story inspired by the recent film adaptation, created purely for fun.

"Where have you been?" I looked up and held back a laugh. Zuko stood there, holding a scroll, his robes undone. I closed the doors behind me, locking it.
"Well, I went to visit Mai and her new boyfriend." I said as I walked over to him. "Upset?" I teased.
"Depends." He smiled, putting the scroll on the bed and helping to take the ornaments out of my hair.
"On what?" I pulled him closer by the waist.
"On whether I should be jealous," he murmured, pulling the last pin free, letting my hair fall over my shoulders.
"Jealous?" you echoed, tilting your head up at him, a smile tugging at your lips. "Of Mai?"
"No," he said easily, leaning down just enough that his breath brushed my skin. "Of the boyfriend."
I smiled as his gaze settled on me, his hands trailing up and down my back. His eyes flicking down to my lips before returning to my gaze. "Did you like him?"
"Hmm." I pretended to think, walking my fingers up his chest. "He was... charming. Attentive. Not nearly as insufferable as someone I know."
"Oh?" His brows lifted, but the smile didn't leave. "Sounds like I have competition."
"Maybe," you said, leaning towards him. My voice dropping. "But he didn't quite.. suit me."
"And I do?" he asked in a quiet whisper.
Looping my arms around his neck, pulling our bodies flush, with only the fabric of my robes between us. "You're tolerable." I kissed him.
"Tolerable," he repeated with a smile as the kiss broke. His hand slipped from my hair to my chin, tilting it up. "I'll have to try harder, then."
"To what?" I moved the strands of bangs away from his eyes.
"Be irresistible," he said simply.
His hands tightened around my waist as we fell into the bed. We landed with myself on top of him.
"Or," he added, voice low and playful, "convince you to stop visiting other men altogether."
