Landon's P.O.V

My mother told us every little secret, every little tip, every little mystery that hasn't been solved yet.

Once she was finished, Lilac and I sat there in shock, cradling our babbling children as if to block them from our family's secrets.

I pull Lilac closer to me before wrapping my arm around her waist.

My  mother looks over my arm in disapproval before motion to us. "You have questions," She predicts, "ask them so I can answer to the best of my ability."

Lilac clears her throat. "So my... grandfather isn't dead? I thought he died because of lunar fever."

With a shrug of her shoulders, my mother leans back in her chair after she took a sip of he drink. "I might have lied. He's actually an alpha now whose not doing so good at the moment. The council is evaluating him and his pack," She answers.

The council is evaluating him? What could that mean?

I do the opposite of my mother and lean forward. "You say that like you keep in touch with him, Mother," I probe.

"Of course!" My mother blushes. "We're mates, Landon, we still keep in touch despite the distance," She laughs.

Lilac raises an eyebrow. "Despite the distance? Just how far does he live?"

My mother shrugs again. "New Zealand."

I nearly choke as the idea of meeting my father disappears from my mind.

How could he live so far and I've never known? Has my mother really shaded me from all this mess for this long?

"What about Mason's father?" Lilac blurts. "You seemed to forgot about your firstborn son during your whole reveal," She accuses with caution.

My mother gasps, her eyes going wide with shock and alarm. She composes herself quickly. "How do you know about him?" She hisses.

Chuckling, I bring Lilac closer to me. "He found us, not the other way around-"

"And by found us, he means Mason tried to kill him out of vengeance," Lilac cuts me off.

"I got rid of him for a reason! He was going to mess up your chances in this world, Landon. Now you know what I mean since he tried to kill you. Plus, your fa-"

Lilac cuts my mother off, receiving her a glare. "You didn't let me finish," She says with a calm voice. "Mason isn't one of our enemies anymore. He's actually very helpful with the babies, and he's probably about to have a family of his own with his mate," She smiles to herself.

My mother's eyes once again widen at the mention of Mason and his mate. She clearly isn't satisfied that he's living a decent life after she abandoned him.

Something tells me she still needs to fill me in on my father's location, Mason's father and why she would want Mason, her firstborn child, miserable.

I adjust Leo and Luka on my lap so they're facing each other. "It seems like you still have some explaining to do, Mother," I accuse her.

Pressing her lips together, my mother grips the edge of the table tightly. "I thought Eden was dead. She shouldn't be alive and she shouldn't be giving Mason a child," She growls.

"What do you mean by that?" I ask.

My mother smiles maliciously. "I wanted Eden dead, so I worked my magic and had her killed," She answers shamelessly.

Lilac clears her throat uncomfortably, her face constricting into one of disbelief and disgust. "I think Lucy needs to be changed and fed, so do the boys."
