Lilac's P.O.V

Vincent stares at Landon and me as we share a long, passionate kiss. I knew that if we didn't stop, I'd end up jumping his bones right her on the couch in his father's office.

"Be safe," I whisper to him after I break the kiss.

He nods before leaning into my ear. "Try to talk to him, Lilac," He instructs me. "I know it's awkward, but at least try."

Pinching my lips in a thin line, I grab his hands and place them on the sides of my stomach. "The last thing on my mind is making friends with Vincent," I reply softly so only Landon hears.

Erik clears his throat. "We need to patrol around the borders," He pauses mid sentence, his eyes lighting up with an idea. "Lilac, why don't you join us?" He asks mischievously.

Landon wraps an around my waist. "She can't," He says immediately.

Ignoring Landon, Erik raises his eyebrows at me. "I s-should stay here with the babies," I stutter.

Everybody in the room looks over at the babies that are playing on the rug in Vincent's office, their soft giggling and babbling bringing a smile to my face.

"You'll have to step up to the plate, Lilac," is all Erik says before he leaves the office.

Landon kisses me once more. "Make sure all four of our kids are safe, Lilac," He says with a smile on his face.

Giggling, I push him towards the door. "Go!" I yell at him playfully.

The door shuts behind Landon which makes the babies look back at the door.

Luka slowly pushes himself up and waddles over to me, as he does this, Vincent's eyes follow him before flickering to me.

"Does he love you?" He asks randomly.

I look over at Vincent. "Pardon?" I walk over to where Leo and Lucy are and sit down on the rug.

"Does Landon love you?" He reiterates.

What kind of question is that?

Laughing, I roll my eyes. "Considering our relationship and how long it has lasted, I'd say so," I answer honestly.

He nods slowly. "How do-"

I cut him off. "How do I get past the fact that he's my father?" I finish as I lean over to brush Lucy's hair out of her face. "It doesn't occur to me much unless I really just stare at him."

Vincent seems appalled but he covers it but motioning to a hallway. "You'll have your own office. Nobody has ever used it either," He changes the subject nervously.

My head falls back as I give into the pain brewing in my body.

How can a little baby be capable of making me feel so uncomfortable and needy?

"Are you okay?" Vincent asks, his brown eyes searching mine for answers.

I so badly want to place my hand on my stomach, but I resist by replying to him. "Just a little tired is all." I give a small smile.
