Lilac's P.O.V

I'm pregnant

That's the reason for why I've been getting sick? Why I'm emotional? Why I'm exhausted? Why my body hurts?

At first, a nervous laugh escapes my lips. "I can't be... p-pregnant!" I deny. "I'm on the pill," I shout.

The doctor shakes his head as he points to another list of words. "These are the most common signs of pregnancy. Go down the list and check off the ones you're experiencing," He orders as he hands me a pen.

Hesitantly, I scan the list and begin to do just that.

Morning sickness. Check.
High basal temperature. Check.
Hormonal. Check.
Aches. Check.
Weight gain. Check.
Aversion to food. Check.
Exhaustion. Check.
Frequent bathroom use. Check.

"F*ck, I am pregnant," I mumble.

How will I tell Landon? We're not in the best place at the moment, and telling him about our unborn baby will surely help us get back to where we were.

One thing's for sure, though, when I tell him about the baby, I'll have to make an effort to reconcile with him.

The doctor stares at me uncertainly. "We can do an ultrasound if you want," He suggests.

Sense slowly returns to me as a hand comes to my stomach.

There's a baby in there.

It's not long before I'm sitting on the bed with the cool jelly on my stomach, watching as he searches for my child.

"There's your pup—" He points to a dark smudge on the screen, "—and you seem to be... five weeks along? That, of course, counts the added two weeks for your period. In human pregnancy that's about eight weeks along," He explains.

Landon and I didn't have sex around that time, especially unprotected... F*ck.

The morning in the bathtub. I must have forgotten to take my pill, and as a result, I'm pregnant.

Staring at the screen, I begin to run my fingers down the side of my stomach, gently caressing my bump that's already beginning to poke out. "What do you suggest I do now?" I ask nervously.

Green eyes find mine immediately. "Take your prenatal pills, soak your body if you have aches, get the sleep you need, and don't force yourself to eat," He lists off.

I nod. "Alright, I should get going now." I look towards the clock on the wall and frown when I see it's about 7:30 now.

The doctor hands me a tissue to wipe the jelly off my stomach, he then walks over to a cabinet and pulls out some pills. "Take these in the morning and at night. If you need more, come back and see me." He flashes me another perfect smile.

My hand reaches up and grabs them before I walk out of the infirmary wing slow.

Without my consent, my other hand slithers onto the small bump hidden below my white shirt. "Well, you know exactly when's the right time to make an appearance, huh?" I joke.

But, the sounds of Erik, Thanatos, and Landon's voice makes my hand slide off my stomach.

"Lilac!" Landon smiles, looking relieved, "how did the appointment go?"
