Lilac's P.O.V

"Wake up, Lilac, we have a meeting today with Erik and Thanatos," Landon calls to me.

He didn't touch me, almost like I'm a bomb, and he probably thinks I am because of how I snapped at him yesterday.

Shoving my head under my pillow, I groan. "I don't feel well. Just go without me," I whine.

Landon leans over my figure. "I'll give you a massage when we get back," He bribes.

Interest pokes at my mind, and I find myself turning over to raise an eyebrow at Landon. "Is there a catch?"

Guilt dances in his eyes. "Yes. If I do this, I want you to go to the doctor and see what's wrong," He informs me.

I frown. "It's not serious, Lan-"

He grabs my hands suddenly. "But that's it! It is serious! You might have lunar fever, and I don't know what I'll do if you die," He mutters.

Wait... He thinks I have lunar fever?

I laugh. "Lunar fever? Landon, I'm not that sick," I joke, but a worry plants itself in my mind.

How could I never think of that possibility? All cases associated with that disease ends in death, and there's no cure, not yet at least.

No, stop worrying, Lilac. You don't have lunar fever, and I'll go to the doctor to prove that. It's probably just some really bad food poisoning.

"I'll go to the doctor to prove it's not lunar fever," I turn over on my side so he's staring at me back, "stop worrying."

He doesn't push it anymore, he changes the subject instead. "Come on, we have a meeting with the twins, and then I scheduled you an appointment for 6:00 o'clock in the evening," He informs me.

Groaning once again, I sit up. "Alright, just back up, you're too close to me," I hiss.

Landon stumbles back when I stand up from the bed, once again acting like I'm a bomb that will explode at any second.

For a split second, my body aches for his touch, but it quickly disappears as I remember what he said to me.

I get dressed in simple jeans and a white tee. My pants squeezed me tightly, and I released a frustrated sigh.

Landon looks at me. "What's wrong?" He asks.

"My pants," I huff, "I must be bloated because of pre-menstrual side-effects."

He nods in understanding before motioning to the door. "We need to go before we're late." He sends me a wary smile.

We walk out of the room side-by-side, but we still don't bother to hold hands or even try small talk.

Erik and Thanatos are whispering to each other, but they stop talking when we walk in.

"Lilac, I'm sure we can trust that you'll make it to your appointment on time? We can't have our potential luna sick," Erik begins.

I nod. "Of course," I reassure.

My hate for them bubbles up deep within my stomach, but I force a smile—I seem to be doing that a lot lately.
