Landon's P.O.V

Whenever Lilac and I weren't training, or taking care of the babies, or checking in on the Pinemoon Pack, we're planning our wedding.

With about 15 months till the big day, we have a lot of time to plan, but currently, all we have is Lilac's dreams about our wedding.

How she wishes to have our wedding in the garden I proposed to her in, how she wants a dress that's engulfed in jewels, how she wants Mason to walk her down the isle considering she's marrying her father.

On top of that, she has only poked at the idea of our fourth and final child. I'm not disappointed because Lilac has told me how hard the training with Ophelia is.

If our baby ends up hurt because of intense training, I think I just might kill somebody in this castle.

But, May is here and that means I have to start assessing with my father over the phone or on Skype to understand everything about his pack.

Traditions, flaws, loose links, rogue issues, beta picking, the best fighters and even killing off a few of the pack members and replacing them, but from the sounds of it, my father's pack is very inclusive.

Breeding within the current pack members is how they stay alive and I'm sure I'm going to change that when I get in power with Lilac.

The pack is already weak, we can't have weak members and low quantities. When I get it power, we'll have high qualities and high quantities.

Rogues will probably be most of the recruits or even exchanges from other packs. I'd have to train all of them to control their wolves.

How fun.

All these thoughts usually kept me up at night. While Lilac slept off the stiffness in her bones and healed the bruises on her skin slowly, I stared at the ceiling just contemplating every possibility.

Contemplating how my heirs would fit in with the pack, if any wolves would rebel because my father wasn't in power anymore.

Every thought ended the same way.

The pack failing, Erik and Thanatos having to kill off everyone in my pack just to keep their genes from corrupting other packs.

Lilac and I would be failures. My heirs included.

I've lost multiple battles against Thanatos—he supposedly can fight better than Erik—because I've been losing sleep to thoughts like those.

The only time they calm is when Lilac wraps her arms around me and kisses my necking in the teasing way she usually does and whispers reassuring words in my ear.

After that, though, the screams of my soon-to-be pack members fill my head in horrible imaginings of war and pack brawls.

I can't be an alpha.

I need to focus on my family, on Lilac. How can I do that when I'm focusing on a pack?

Lilac's lips kiss down my naked body, drawing my attention. Her eyes find mine. "Stop thinking about all that. We're together right now. Can't you just enjoy this one bath with me?" She pleads.

The worry stabbing at my brain and body easily drain out when Lilac sits upright on her hunches and shamelessly shows off her body to me.

Everything stops when she straddles me. "Just kiss me, Landon. Forget about everything for right now," She coos like she's speaking to the babies.

Without hesitation, I pull her face towards mine and kiss her like I'll never see her again.

My tongue jabs at her lips, desperately wanting her to part them so I can taste her.

"Landon," She moans when I push my tongue against hers.

Our hands trail down one another's body, and before we know it, we're moaning against each other's lips.

Her hand runs up and down my shaft with great speed, my fingers going the same speed inside her core.

Groans begin to leave my mouth along with Lilac's moans, and I realize something in this exhilarating moment.

This beautiful woman is my fiancée. She knows how to pleasure me, calm me, make me happy.

I couldn't be more blessed than I am now. Lydia never made me feel this way, and the thought of marriage with her wasn't this exciting.

"I love you so much," She moans against my lips.

Sighing, I let Lilac's hands and lips drive away the last of my worry, deciding to just live in the moment.

Before I know it, I'm inside of her, my wet hands running over her wet hair.

She kisses my mark tenderly before working her way down my body, all while managing to help me maneuver her body on my shaft.

"D-don't stop, please," She stutters.

Her moans are soon uncontrollable, despite my efforts to hush her, so I'm forced to place my hand over her mouth.

It had escalated so quickly, too quickly. The bath had gone longer than we both intended it to, which meant we missed a lot of appointments on our busy to-do list.

Lilac and I find ourselves rushing to pull on clothes before leaving the room in a haste.

When we finally arrive in Erik and Thanatos's office, we're met by glares from both brothers.

"We were supposed to be looking at financial plans to renovate the land today and you thought it was okay to miss it?" Erik asks calmly.

Before Lilac can speak, I do. "I apologize. We were busy." The thought of Lilac kissing over my body pops into my head.

Erik scans over Lilac's tiny figure. "Tell me, Lilac. Is this true?"

Lilac stiffens. "Yes," She answers.

Thanatos steps forward now. "It better be. We don't deprive ourselves from our mates just so we can wait here while you two go off and do Goddess knows what," He growls.

Lilac flinches. "It won't happen again." She tugs on my hand so I'll move to sit down on the couch beside her. "We don't have much time together lately," She spews.

I roll my eyes but nevertheless pull her closer to my side and breathe in her scent. "Well, we're here now. We can get started," I try to say, and succeed, without sounding annoyed.

Suddenly, a notepad is thrown onto my lap. A bunch of numbers are scribbled across the paper.

"It's not that easy. You'll be punished for being late. Both of you," Thanatos barks.

At that, Lilac raises her head. "What punishment?" She asks fearfully.

"You'll both spend a week apart. No mind-link, no texting or calling, no face-to-face communication, no communication of any kind. If you disobey, you'll both be punished. Physically," Thanatos continues.

Lilac grips my bicep tightly. "No. I can't... The babies," She whispers.

"You'll spend time with them separately," He brushes off. "This first test with teach you how to refrain and control yourselves, teaching you how to calm your wolves without your mate around. Am I understood?"

Lilac and I nod in unison, but deep down, I'm freaking out.

I can't go through all this stress without Lilac's voice, scent, and touch there to calm me. Are they crazy?

"This begins tomorrow, which means midnight on the dot. Now, let's talk finance." Erik claps his hands together like he didn't just doom my wolf and me.
